JD Vance Watched Democrats Do Something to a 6-Year-Old at the SOTU That Has America Furious

Mar 1, 2026

A little girl nearly died on a California highway.

She sat in that Capitol chamber Tuesday night – alive, smiling, hugging her dad on national television – because of what Trump is doing at the border.

Then JD Vance watched what congressional Democrats did next, and he had something to say about it that every American needs to hear.

Democrats Sat Silent While Dalilah Coleman Hugged Her Dad on National Television

Her name is Dalilah Coleman.

She was five years old in June 2024 when an illegal alien from India – behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler with a California-issued commercial driver's license – plowed into her stopped car on a San Bernardino County highway.

The driver, Partap Singh, faces three counts of vehicular homicide along with immigration charges.

Dalilah survived against a medical prognosis that gave her little chance.

Doctors told her parents she would never walk, talk, or eat on her own again.

She is now in first grade.

Tuesday night at the State of the Union, Trump brought her to the chamber.

She hugged her father Marcus in front of the nation – a moment so pure that it silenced the room.

Then the cameras panned to the Democratic side of the aisle.

Every Democrat sat on their hands and scowled.

Not one stood up for that little girl.

Vance Calls Out Democrat Cowardice One Day After the SOTU

JD Vance was in Plover, Wisconsin on Thursday – visiting a machining facility – when he said what millions of Americans were already thinking.

"They cannot clap their hands for a 6-year-old who survived an attack from an illegal alien," Vance told the crowd.

He said there was a part of every Democrat in that chamber – "the human part in their soul" – that wanted to stand and cheer for Dalilah.

They chose not to.

"And you have to ask yourself, why is that?" Vance said.

His answer was direct: Democrats don't answer to American citizens.

They answer to the people who opened the border, who got rich off illegal immigrant labor, and who built a political machine that depends on the chaos Joe Biden invited in.

On Fox News the morning after the SOTU, Vance went further – revealing something most television viewers couldn't see from home.

A handful of Democrats had politely started to clap, then stopped – glancing sideways at colleagues for permission before sitting back down.

"They were all looking around for cues from their colleagues because they didn't have the courage to stand on their own," Vance said.

That, he told anchor Bill Hemmer, was the real story – not just opposition to Trump, but cowardice dressed up as conviction.

Democrats Staged the Largest SOTU Boycott in History – Then Scowled at a Child

Dalilah's moment wasn't the only time Democrats showed the country exactly who they are Tuesday night.

When Trump introduced Anna Zarutska – the grieving mother of 23-year-old Iryna, stabbed to death on a North Carolina train by a repeat offender released on no-cash bail – Democrats didn't move.

"How do you not stand? How do you not stand?" Trump asked from the podium.

Attorney General Pam Bondi put it plainly the next morning on Fox News: "It was heartbreaking that Iryna's mother had to experience that. That should be nonpartisan."

Roughly half of House and Senate Democrats didn't attend at all – the largest SOTU boycott in American history, according to the American Center for Law and Justice.

The ones who came held signs. Rep. Ilhan Omar shouted "You are a murderer" at the President. Rep. Rashida Tlaib wore a profane anti-ICE pin on the House floor.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune called it plainly: Trump's State of the Union revealed "two Americas."

The Dalilah Law Vote Will Force Every Democrat to Go on Record

Vance made clear in Wisconsin that the SOTU moment is already loaded into the 2026 midterm campaign.

"If anything, the State of the Union should have showed us that we cannot give power back to congressional Democrats," he said.

He's right – and now there's a vote coming that will prove it.

The day after the SOTU, Indiana Senator Jim Banks introduced the Dalilah Law in the U.S. Senate.

The bill bans any state from issuing commercial driver's licenses to illegal aliens, revokes CDLs already issued to them, and requires all CDL tests to be administered in English only.

It is the exact loophole that put Partap Singh behind the wheel of that 18-wheeler and into Dalilah Coleman's path.

Every Democrat who sat on their hands Tuesday night will now be forced to vote on that bill.

The same voters who watched them scowl at a little girl hugging her dad will be watching when they do.
