The federal government used to lose $250 billion a year to fraud and recover just $10 billion of it.
That's not a typo.
And the moment JD Vance revealed what happened when 800 fraudulent Medicare providers got the boot tells you everything about who was feeding at this trough.
The Number That Explains Two Months of Work
Eight hundred questionable healthcare providers removed from Medicare.
Zero of them called to contest it.
Think about that for a second.
When Dr. Mehmet Oz – the Trump administration's CMS Administrator – announced the removals at a press conference with Vice President Vance, he made a point of flagging that detail.

Not one provider picked up the phone to say the government got it wrong.
If you're a legitimate business and the federal government just cut off your revenue stream, you call your lawyer within the hour.
These people said nothing.
That silence is a confession.
Biden Handed Fraudsters a Four-Year Head Start
For years the government operated on a pay-and-chase model – send the money out first, ask questions later.
The results were catastrophic.
The United States recovered just 4 cents of every dollar stolen – $10 billion clawed back against $250 billion lost every single year.
Worse, the previous administration declined to prosecute any fraud case totaling less than $1.5 million annually.
Vance laid out that number himself – and it's worth sitting with.
The average American pays roughly $500,000 in taxes over an entire lifetime.

Biden's DOJ was giving fraudsters a free pass on theft that would wipe out the entire lifetime tax contributions of three Americans combined.
That wasn't a policy failure.
That was an invitation.
The Task Force Changed the Math
Trump signed the executive order creating the Anti-Fraud Task Force in March, putting Vance in charge with Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson at his side.
The shift was immediate and fundamental.
Instead of waiting for money to leave the Treasury, the administration deployed advanced AI tools to flag suspicious patterns before a check ever gets written.
Forensic accounting. Anomaly detection. Pattern recognition running across multiple programs simultaneously.
The targets expanded beyond Medicare and Medicaid to SNAP benefits, student loans, and small business loans.
In two months, the results are already staggering.
The Department of Justice's new Fraud Division – led by Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald – executed 22 search warrants against fraudulent daycare centers in Minnesota, including the Quality Learning Center.

They launched a major crackdown in Los Angeles against Medicare fraudsters.
They secured multi-year prison sentences in a $522 million healthcare fraud scheme.
And Dr. Oz removed 800 Medicare providers who apparently had no defense against the accusation.
This Is a Movement Now
What started at the White House is spreading.
The House Oversight Committee stood up its own Fraud Division, led by Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill.
The Daily Wire independently exposed a massive fraud scandal in Ohio.
ICE identified 10,000 fraudulent foreign students enrolled in the Optional Practical Training program – collecting work benefits they had no right to collect.
The task force built a template and other institutions are running the same play.
Compare that to the last time a vice president was handed a portfolio and told to get results.
Kamala Harris was named border czar in March 2021.
She held one press conference, took one trip to the border – scheduled only after Donald Trump announced he was going there first – and produced nothing.
The border got worse every year she held the title.
Vance has been running the anti-fraud task force for two months.
Eight hundred fraudulent providers were removed.
Twenty-two search warrants executed.
A $522 million fraud ring prosecuted to prison sentences.

That's not a portfolio assignment.
That's a war being won.
What 800 Silences Tell You About Four Years of Biden
Vance isn't doing this because it's popular.
He's doing this because he grew up in a family that needed these programs to survive – and he knows what happens when the money runs out.
Medicare and Medicaid aren't budget line items to him.
They're the difference between a sick grandmother getting care and not getting care.
Every dollar a fraudster extracts is a dollar that was supposed to go to someone who actually needed it.
Biden let that theft run for four years while his administration kept the detection systems switched off.
Now 800 providers who billed Medicare for services they never delivered can't find a single argument to make in their own defense.
That silence is the whole story.
It tells you what the Biden years actually were – not a policy disagreement, not a difference in priorities, but an open invitation to anyone willing to steal from the people this government is supposed to protect.
Vance is collecting the bill.
