Joy Behar has spent 29 years telling America that Republicans are dangerous.
Vance sat down in her house Tuesday – and more than three million people showed up to watch what happened next.
That number just told the liberal media something they desperately did not want to hear.
The Show That Hates Republicans Just Broke Its Own Record With One
The June 16 episode of The View featuring Vice President JD Vance drew 3.331 million viewers – the show’s biggest audience since its post-election meltdown in November 2024, when a shell-shocked panel stared into cameras and told America it had made a terrible mistake.
The only thing that gets Americans to tune in to Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg is a Republican willing to walk into the lion’s den.
Vance walked into the most hostile studio in daytime television and held his ground for a full hour.
When Ana Navarro claimed Trump had said he loved inflation, Vance corrected her on the spot – Trump meant he loves the fact that inflation is coming down as the war ends.
When Sunny Hostin brought up Epstein, Vance didn’t flinch – he reminded the panel that Trump was one of the first people to report Epstein to law enforcement.
When Whoopi Goldberg pressed him on the administration’s treatment of minorities, Vance didn’t blink – “everybody is welcome in our political coalition.”
The co-hosts pushed back on every answer.
Navarro argued Trump’s immigration enforcement crossed moral lines as a Christian.
Goldberg tried to corner him on race.
Behar asked if he was Trump’s interpreter or his vice president.
None of it landed the way they planned.
What Behar Said in the Break – And What It Actually Means
Here is the part the left does not want analyzed.
After an hour of sparring with a Republican they have spent years calling dangerous, Joy Behar pulled Vance aside during a commercial break and told him: “You know what? You’re, like, pretty good for a Republican.”
That is a compliment from one of the most reliable Trump critics on American television.
Vance reported it himself on Gutfeld! that same night – and he was right to be surprised.
This matters beyond the laugh.
Vance walked into a room where the panel expected to embarrass the Vice President of the United States – and instead they got a confident, prepared, unrattled conservative who gave better answers than they had prepared questions for.
The 3.3 million viewers who showed up saw all of it.
ABC Is Celebrating the Wrong Thing
Here is where the story gets interesting.
ABC’s press team rushed out a triumphant press release touting the viewership record the morning after Vance’s appearance.
What they did not mention: the FCC is currently investigating The View for violating equal time rules after the show hosted a Democratic Senate candidate in February without offering the same access to Republicans.
ABC is simultaneously arguing to the FCC that The View is a legitimate news program – and celebrating a rating spike that only happened because a Republican showed up.
The Media Research Center documented that in all of 2025, The View hosted 128 liberal guests and exactly two conservatives.
Two.

Then Vance walks in and they shatter an 18-month viewership record.
If the show actually wanted those ratings, the solution has been obvious for years.
Instead, ABC is running on-air ads using the late Barbara Walters’ voice, urging viewers to file comments with the FCC before the July 6 deadline – telling the government to stay out of their programming decisions.
The same programming decisions that gave liberals 64 times more airtime than conservatives in a single year.
The Real Story in That Number
That 3.3 million figure is not a ratings story.
It is proof that when a confident Republican walks into unfriendly territory and refuses to flinch, Americans watch.
That is what actual political confidence looks like – and it is exactly what the left has been counting on conservatives not having.
The moment Vance walked off that set, Joy Behar had already given conservatives the only verdict that matters: he won.
