Jasmine Crockett Said One Thing About Trump That Left The White House Fuming

Jan 10, 2026

Democrats keep digging themselves deeper holes with voters.

One Texas congresswoman just made things worse for her party.

And Jasmine Crockett said one thing about Trump that left the White House fuming.

Crockett compares Trump to Venezuelan dictator on anniversary of January 6

Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett appeared on The View Tuesday to mark the fifth anniversary of January 6.

Crockett stunned the hosts when she compared Donald Trump to Nicolas Maduro, the Venezuelan dictator Trump just had arrested.

"Everyone wants to talk about how Maduro was illegitimate," Crockett told the audience.

"As we sit here on January 6th, I do want to be clear, somebody else was trying to be a Maduro of the United States."

"Somebody else wanted to do the exact same thing," she continued.

"The difference is Maduro was successful."

Crockett claimed Trump tried to become an illegitimate leader like Maduro after losing the 2020 election.

She also accused Trump of not really caring about Venezuelans when his administration captured Maduro on Saturday.

"This ain't about Venezuelans," Crockett stated.

"I get that there are people that don't like the leader. But guess what, there are a lot of people that don't like our leader."

She suggested Americans would be outraged if another country grabbed Trump "in the middle of the night and killing people in this country."

Crockett runs for Senate as longshot in deep red Texas.

She announced last year she would seek the 2026 Democrat nomination for U.S. Senate in Texas.

No Democrat has won statewide in Texas since 1994.

Trump carried the state by double digits in November.

Her candidacy is considered a longshot at best, even by Democrats in Texas.

Polling shows 49% of Texas voters say they would definitely not vote for Crockett, higher than any other candidate in the race.

White House fires back with brutal response

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson destroyed Crockett's comparison in a statement to Fox News.

"Kudos to Jasmine Crockett for continuously proving everyone wrong – she can, in fact, say something even dumber than she's already said," Jackson stated.

"This braindead take is so deeply out of touch with reality, it doesn't even warrant a serious response," Jackson added.

Crockett has a history of inflammatory statements that land her in hot water.

She previously called for Tesla CEO Elon Musk to be "taken down" and said Ted Cruz needs to be "knocked over the head, like hard."

After Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10, the White House accused Crockett of promoting political violence.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said at the time that "All three of Jasmine Crockett's brain cells are infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Republicans see Crockett as a gift that keeps on giving.

Her Senate campaign announcement thrilled GOP operatives who believe she'll energize Republican turnout while alienating swing voters.

Senator John Cornyn called Crockett "radical, theatrical and ineffective" when she entered the race.

He said Republicans would "make sure every Texas voter knows how absurd her candidacy is."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton dubbed her "Crazy Jasmine Crockett" and predicted she would lose by "double digits."

Democrats fear Crockett's toxic brand could drag down other candidates on the ballot.

She's running in a state where Trump won by comfortable margins and Republicans dominate every statewide office.

Her comments comparing Trump to a narco-terrorist dictator won't help Democrats win over the moderate voters they need to flip Texas.

But Crockett seems determined to keep giving Republicans ammunition to use against her and her party.
