Jasmine Crockett Just Called Her Own Party Racist for Voting Against Her

Jul 12, 2026

Kamala Harris called it racism, and now Jasmine Crockett is calling it racism too.

The Democrat Party's favorite excuse just jumped from a presidential loss to a Texas primary.

Crockett lost to a fellow Democrat by seven points – and she’s still blaming the voters who did it.

Democrats Called Their Own Primary a Racist Race

Jasmine Crockett lost the Texas Democrat Senate primary to James Talarico in March by more than seven points – 53% to 46%.

Talarico outraised her more than $20 million to $8 million.

He outspent her on ads four to one.

He won black-heavy precincts alongside white and Hispanic ones.

None of that matters to Crockett.

"The reality is that there was a lot of races, not a lot, it was racist. It was a racist race. It is what it is, right? But we live in America as y'all are celebrating 250, okay? We know what this country is," she said.

Think about what she just did.

She called Democrat primary voters – the most progressive electorate in Texas – racists.

She called the people who turned out to vote in a Democrat Senate primary racists.

These are not Trump voters. These are the base.

This is the third consecutive cycle Democrats have blamed racism when they lost a major election.

Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. Kamala Harris lost in 2024.

David Axelrod pointed to racial bias.

The National Organization for Women blamed misogyny and racism.

Now Crockett is applying the same template to her own party's voters in Texas.

She Won't Answer His Calls and He Won the Primary

The racism charge is only the latest chapter.

The full story is more embarrassing.

Talarico personally called Crockett after winning and invited her to deliver the keynote address at the Texas Democrat Party convention in Corpus Christi – a gesture toward the woman he beat, designed to project unity heading into November.

Crockett never listened to the voicemail.

"I had a missed call that I've not returned, nor have I listened to the message from Talarico," she told the Dallas Morning News. "It seemed like an afterthought invite."

She skipped the convention entirely.

When asked directly whether she plans to campaign for Talarico, who faces Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton in November, she offered this: "I have no idea. I am more focused on down-ballot races in general."

Two polls have the race within three points.

Every point of Black voter enthusiasm in Dallas and Houston matters.

And the most prominent Black Democrat in Texas is publicly telling her voters she doesn't know if the nominee deserves their support.

Paxton Just Got the Best Surrogate He Never Hired

Texas hasn't elected a Democrat statewide since 1994.

The left spent the spring convincing themselves this was finally their year – Paxton's baggage, Trump fatigue, a tight polling picture.

They needed everything to go right.

Then Jasmine Crockett opened her mouth.

She carried 46% of Democratic primary voters.

In a race that close, Crockett tanking Black turnout in Dallas and Houston doesn't just hurt Talarico – it ends him.

She's handing Paxton the election – and calling the voters who made it possible racists on the way out the door.

This is what the Democrat Party looks like in 2026.

When you lose a primary – outspent four to one, after explicitly saying you didn't need Trump voters – the explanation is racism.

The accountability is zero.

The unity calls are for everyone else.

Ken Paxton doesn't need to campaign harder.

He just needs to wait for Jasmine Crockett's press availability.
