James Comer saw one smoking gun that will leave Joe Biden a nervous wreck

James Comer’s been leading the investigation into Joe Biden’s corruption for two years.

Now the media has to eat some crow.

And James Comer found one smoking gun that will leave Joe Biden a nervous wreck.

Another Hunter Biden blockbuster

Now that Joe Biden’s out of the Presidential race, the Washington, D.C. Swamp no longer needs to protect him.

The State Department finally released records from when Biden was Vice President showing Hunter Biden reached out to the Obama administration’s ambassador in Italy for help on the Ukrainian energy company Burisma’s geothermal energy projects in Tuscany.

“The records, which the Biden administration had withheld for years, indicate that Hunter Biden wrote at least one letter to the U.S. ambassador to Italy in 2016 seeking assistance for the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, where he was a board member,” The New York Times reports.

Embassy officials knew they were treading on thin ice as Hunter Biden sought to leverage his connection with his father.

“I want to be careful about promising too much,” a Commerce Department official working out of the U.S. Embassy in Rome wrote in response.

“This is a Ukrainian company and, purely to protect ourselves, U.S.G. should not be actively advocating with the government of Italy without the company going through the D.O.C. Advocacy Center,” the official added.

Hunter Biden and FARA charges

The Times got their hands on these emails one week after prosecutors revealed in a court filing accusations that Hunter Biden contacted a State Department official at the behest of a Romanian real estate titan facing corruption charges in his home country.

The Times also reported that prosecutors “noted that they had evidence that Mr. Biden had reached out to the State Department on behalf of a different foreign client, a real estate magnate facing corruption charges in Romania. Mr. Biden did not register under FARA as a lobbyist for the Romanian developer or Burisma.”

These twin bombshells raised serious questions about why prosecutors aren’t charging Hunter Biden with violating the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said these discoveries shouldn’t be overstated.

“This is, I think, the biggest political corruption scandal in our history’s lifetime,” Comer declared.

Prosecutors likely shied away from the FARA charges against Hunter Biden because that would have dragged Joe Biden into the investigation.

There is also the fact that The Times noted the State Department magically appeared to dig up records right after Joe Biden announced he wasn’t seeking re-election after dragging their feet on producing them for 18 months after The Times first filed a Freedom of Information Act request.

“The department resumed the search and periodic productions, but had produced few documents related to Mr. Biden until the week after his father ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Vice President Harris for the Democratic nomination,” The Times reported.

The State Department laughably claimed this was a coincidence.
