Homan Just Reminded Democrats Why They Called Obama “Deporter In Chief” – And They’re Pretending They Forgot

Feb 4, 2026

Tom Homan landed in Minneapolis and Democrats started calling him a Nazi.

The same Tom Homan who ran ICE enforcement under Barack Obama and deported more people than any administration in American history.

Now he's back explaining to Hannity exactly what Democrats want you to forget about their hero president.

Border Czar Homan Earned Obama's Presidential Rank Award For Record ICE Deportations

In 2015, Barack Obama personally awarded Homan the Presidential Rank Award – the highest honor a federal civil servant can receive.

What did he get it for?

Running the most aggressive deportation operation in American history.

438,421 deportations in 2013 alone – a record that's never been matched.

Between 2013 and 2016, Homan's team removed 920,000 people from the United States.

The Washington Post called him someone who "deports people. And he's really good at it."

Immigration activists called Obama the "deporter in chief."

Nobody called him a Nazi. Nobody compared ICE to the Gestapo. Nobody accused him of running concentration camps.

Homan told Hannity he's overseen more deportations than any other man since the Eisenhower administration – most of that under a Democrat president the media loved.

What Changed Between Obama And Trump? Three Words From Homan

When Hannity asked what changed between Obama's immigration enforcement and Trump's, Homan didn't hesitate.

"They hate President Trump."

Under Obama, 438,421 deportations in a single year earned Homan a medal and a promotion.

Under Trump's first term, deportations never topped 350,000 – and Democrats called it fascism.

Now Trump's back in office and Homan's running enforcement operations in Minneapolis after two Americans were shot dead by federal agents.

Tim Walz calls ICE "the modern-day Gestapo."

The same Tim Walz who met with Homan this week and called him "professional" for showing up at 9:00 a.m. after calling the night before.

Homan's message in Minneapolis is identical to what it's been since January 20: mass deportation, prioritizing criminals and public safety threats first.

70% of everyone ICE arrests right now has a criminal record.

That's actually more focused on criminals than Obama's operation was – and Democrats loved Obama's operation enough to give Homan their highest award.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey Says One Thing In Meetings, Another Thing On Twitter

Jacob Frey met with Homan and called it productive.

Then he posted on social media: "I also made it clear that Minneapolis does not and will not enforce federal immigration law."

Homan got commitments from Minnesota officials anyway: state prisons will honor ICE detainers, sheriffs can notify ICE before releasing criminal immigrants, and agents can arrest them in jail instead of hunting them in neighborhoods.

"One agent can arrest a bad guy in a jail rather than sending a whole team to the community," Homan explained.

With threats against ICE officials up 8,000% and vehicular attacks up 3,200%, jail cooperation means fewer agents exposed to the mobs Democrats are encouraging.

Homan predicted in March that if the hateful rhetoric didn't stop, someone would die.

Democrats called him crazy.

Then came the shootings.

Trump Sent Homan To Minneapolis To Save Lives – Democrats Called Him A Nazi

Trump didn't send Homan to Minneapolis to back down.

He sent him to de-escalate and prevent more deaths.

"President Trump is going to Minneapolis to save lives, to save lives of officers, to save lives of the community and do smart law enforcement operations," Homan said.

The White House published a list of 57 times Democrats compared ICE to Nazis or the Gestapo.

Governor Walz made the list. So did Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern, who claimed Trump uses "ICE like a secret police force" with "Gestapo-like tactics."

Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner called ICE agents "wannabe Nazis" and threatened that "if we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities, we will find you."

This is the rhetoric Democrats aim at federal officers enforcing the exact same laws Obama enforced at record levels.

Homan's not leaving until the job's done.

When he says that, you believe him – because he already did this job under Obama, at record-breaking numbers, and earned the highest award a president can give.

Mass Deportation Policy Unchanged – Only Which Party Controls The White House

Democrats loved mass deportations when Obama did it.

They gave Homan a medal for executing the policy at historic levels.

Now they're calling him a Nazi for doing the exact same job – except this time he's working for Trump.

Obama deported 438,421 people in one year and nobody accused him of genocide.

Trump focuses enforcement even more heavily on criminals and Democrats accuse federal agents of being Hitler's secret police.

That tells you everything you need to know about who's playing politics with immigration enforcement.
