Hillary Clinton spent ten years as the wall between Democrats and socialism.
Now she's calling it a healthy experiment.
And Hillary Clinton just gave her blessing to the movement that's crushing her party.
The Woman Who Crushed Bernie Now Wants His Movement
In 2016, Clinton's entire campaign apparatus existed to stop one thing: democratic socialism taking over the Democrat Party.
She outspent Sanders.
She weaponized the DNC against him.
She mocked his policy math as fantasy.
She won.
And Monday, from a Hamptons symposium, she looked at the party she saved from socialism in 2016 – and called socialist experimentation "healthy."
"The Democratic Party right now is, I think, going through a kind of experiment," Clinton said at the Hamptons Institute. "I think that is healthy."
The party she was describing isn't the one that ran her in 2016.
Mamdani-backed socialists just knocked out sitting House members in New York.
Abdul El-Sayed – backed by Bernie Sanders – just won the Michigan Senate Democrat primary.

A Democratic Socialist is mayor of New York City and another just won in Seattle.
Clinton knows this.
She's watched it happen.
And instead of sounding the alarm, she called it a science project.
The Hypocrisy She Delivered From the Hamptons
Clinton, speaking from the Hamptons, attempted to flip the socialism charge back on Trump.
"I get very amused when I hear Trump and his people talking about socialism and communism," she said. "The way he's behaving is socialism for the rich."
She delivered that line while defending a party that nominates candidates who want to abolish ICE, freeze rents, and run city-owned grocery stores.
The White House wasn't amused.
"Crooked Hillary Clinton is still whining about her spectacular 2016 election defeat," White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital. "It's time for Hillary to move on."
The RNC piled on immediately.
"INSANE Hillary Clinton says the Democrat Party is going through an experiment to see if far-Left, socialist candidates – who want to abolish prisons and borders – can win over young voters," they posted on X.

Heritage Foundation media fellow Tim Young cut to the chase.
"Easy for her to say when she has her own security team," he said.
She Already Admitted This Blows Up in November
Two weeks ago, on the Pivot podcast, Clinton warned that the Republican "communist, socialist" attack line against Democrat candidates is going to be "a very effective attack."
She said she assumed Trump's team had tested it and had data showing it works.
That's a former Democrat presidential nominee admitting – on the record – that the socialist brand is toxic in a general election.
And then Monday she stood at the Hamptons Institute and called that same socialist surge "healthy."
Hillary Clinton knows both things are true.
She just can't say them in the same room.
Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville is so alarmed by the party's leftward sprint that he's threatened to leave it entirely if figures like online personality Hasan Piker – who campaigned alongside El-Sayed – gain more influence.
That's not a fringe warning.
That's the man who put Bill Clinton in the White House in 1992.
Clinton's answer to all of it is to call it healthy.
What This Actually Costs Democrats in November
Here's what Clinton won't say from the Hamptons: the socialist primary wins she's blessing are about to become Republican attack ads in every swing district in America.
Brad Lander – the socialist who knocked out incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman in New York – wins his general election easily. Deep blue district. No real fight.
Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan is a different story entirely.

Republicans have already road-tested the communist label in Michigan. Clinton herself admitted it works there.
El-Sayed is running in a state Trump won.
The GOP is going to tie him to Mamdani, to rent freezes, to every socialist primary win from coast to coast – and Clinton just handed them a gift-wrapped quote calling all of it "healthy."
Voters in Macomb County, Michigan aren't experimenting with socialism.
They're watching Democrats run candidates who want to nationalize grocery stores and freeze their landlords' income – and call it progress.
Clinton knows the attack works.
She just cares more about staying relevant to the people who beat her than she does about winning in November.
