Gavin Newsom burned down Los Angeles and spent the rest of his time trolling Kid Rock on social media.
Now Kid Rock has an Apache attack helicopter hovering over his Tennessee mansion – and Newsom has nothing.

What Just Happened in Tennessee
On March 28, Kid Rock posted a video from his 27,000-square-foot Whites Creek estate – the one he built to look exactly like the White House and calls the "Southern White House."
Two Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters from the U.S. Army appeared at eye level just beyond his infinity pool.
Rock saluted.
He stood next to a miniature Statue of Liberty, clapping and pumping his fists as both aircraft hovered before banking away.
Then he went straight at Newsom.
"This is a level of respect that shit-for-brains Governor of California will never know," Rock posted on X. "God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her."
The clip hit 5 million views.
The Feud Newsom Started
Gavin Newsom has been trolling Kid Rock for over a year, and it has become his entire political identity.
In February 2026, Kid Rock filmed a workout video with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promoting the Make America Healthy Again initiative – lifting weights, playing pickleball, drinking raw milk.
Newsom's response was to post in all-caps that he was "officially banning Kid Rock from California" and calling the workout "creepy" and "very low energy."
Back in August 2025, Newsom's press office posted a fake AI-generated image of Rock dressed as Uncle Sam endorsing him for governor.
Rock fired back: "The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ."
Newsom then declared he "hated Kid Rock" publicly.
In September 2025, Newsom "indefinitely suspended" Rock from performing in California – because of, and this is real, "his horrific music."
In February 2026, Newsom declared "Bad Bunny Day" in California specifically to take another shot at Rock while he headlined a rival Super Bowl event.
The governor of the fifth-largest economy on earth has spent over a year in a meme war with a Michigan rock star.
What California Gets Instead
While Kid Rock was saluting Apache helicopters over his White House replica, Gavin Newsom's California was still sifting through the rubble of Los Angeles.
The January 2025 wildfires burned more than 35,000 acres across Los Angeles.
The 117-million-gallon Santa Ynez Reservoir near the Palisades fire was out of service when the fires started.
Hydrants ran dry.
Three one-million-gallon water tanks emptied by 3 a.m. on the first night.
And months before the fires, Newsom's budget cut wildfire-related funding by $144 million – including $5 million for prescribed burns and $12 million for home hardening.
He called those cuts a "ridiculous lie" until CBS News confirmed them.
Meanwhile, a year later, LA homeowners are still waiting to rebuild.
The Contrast Newsom Can't Escape
Newsom has governed California for seven years.
He has the nation's highest state income tax, a fire prevention program he overstated by 690 percent according to a joint CapRadio and NPR investigation, and a state people are abandoning faster than any governor wants to admit.

His response to all of it is to post trolling messages on X in Trump's all-caps style, pretending to ban country singers and rock stars.
Kid Rock is standing at the Southern White House getting saluted by Apache pilots.
Gavin Newsom is on his phone, writing social media posts, auditioning for a 2028 presidential race that nobody asked for.
One of those men understands what respect looks like in America.
