Fast-food chains keep trying to win customers back with gimmicks and trendy nonsense.
But one restaurant chain knows what Americans actually want on their plates.
And Freddy’s just gave Americans exactly what they’ve been craving with these two menu additions.
Freddy’s brings back the classics Americans love
While other chains chase after whatever food trend is popular on social media this week, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers decided to stick with what works.
The Wichita, Kansas-based chain announced they’re rolling out their new Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack starting August 27th.
This isn’t some plant-based experiment or fusion cuisine nobody asked for.
The Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack delivers exactly what it promises – two hand-pressed steakburger patties topped with sharp cheddar cheese, four slices of crispy Applewood bacon, and grilled onions.
They’re serving it on a King’s Hawaiian bun with their new Smoky Fry Sauce.
"Freddy’s newest Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack is a delicious combination of bold, craveable flavors with crispy bacon, caramelized grilled onions, and rich cheddar cheese on top of our premium signature steakburger patties," said Erin Walter, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer.¹
The burger will be available through December 30th at participating locations nationwide.
But Freddy’s didn’t stop there.
They’re also bringing back their Pumpkin Pie Concrete by popular demand.
A seasonal favorite returns just in time
The Pumpkin Pie Concrete has become a fan favorite that customers look forward to every year.
It’s made with vanilla frozen custard blended with an entire slice of pumpkin pie – crust included – then topped with whipped cream and cinnamon.
"Our Pumpkin Pie Concrete is a fan-favorite dessert that both guests and Freddy’s team members look forward to each year," said Rick Petralia, Director of Menu Strategy & Innovation.²
The dessert features traditional spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
Customers can get the Pumpkin Pie Concrete through November 25th.
Both menu items are available for drive-thru, in-restaurant dining, and pickup or delivery through Freddy’s mobile app.
What this tells you about smart business
Here’s what Freddy’s gets that so many other chains don’t – Americans want real food that tastes good.
They’re not interested in laboratory-created meat substitutes or whatever celebrity chef collaboration is trending this month.
People want a burger with actual bacon and real cheese.
They want desserts that remind them of home-baked pies their grandmother used to make.
Freddy’s has built their reputation on cooked-to-order steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, and fresh frozen custard.
The chain now operates over 550 locations across the United States and Canada.
They’ve earned recognition as No. 60 on Fast Casual’s Top 100 Movers + Shakers and No. 59 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500.³
While other restaurants chase trends, Freddy’s focuses on what actually matters – quality ingredients prepared fresh.
The Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack and returning Pumpkin Pie Concrete prove that sometimes the best business strategy is giving customers exactly what they want.
No gimmicks required.
