FEMA had one awful message for Americans in the aftermath of the hurricane

The southeast was devastated by Hurricane Helene.

Hundreds of Americans are still missing or trapped in the aftermath of the storm.

And FEMA had one awful message for Americans in the aftermath of the hurricane.

Disaster relief guided by woke agenda

Hurricane Helene created a path of destruction that ran from Florida to Virginia.

Nearly 200 people died across six states in the southeast and more than a thousand are missing.

Unprecedented flooding washed away entire towns in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris spent the weekend at a star-studded fundraiser in San Francisco and President Joe Biden was lounging at a Delaware beach.

The federal government was behind the eightball in responding to the storm while Americans were suffering.

Private sector relief groups and volunteers sprang into action to help their fellow Americans in their time of need.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) leads the federal government’s response to natural disasters.

President Joe Biden has made adopting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles a top priority for his administration and disaster relief is no exception.

The FEMA strategic plan for 2022-2026 outlines the agency’s commitment to equity when responding to a natural disaster.

“The plan outlines three bold, ambitious goals to meet this challenge,” FEMA states. “These goals position FEMA to address the increasing range and complexity of disasters, support the diversity of communities we serve, and complement the nation’s growing expectations of the emergency management community.”

A left-wing political agenda is prioritized over better helping Americans in need.

FEMA’s three goals are to “instill equity as a foundation of emergency management,” to “lead the whole community in climate resilience,” and finally to “promote and sustain a ready FEMA and a prepared nation.”

Journalist Nick Sortor sounded the alarm that FEMA was nowhere to be found in flood-ravaged Western North Carolina in the immediate aftermath of the storm.

FEMA took flak for its poor response to the Maui wildfires in Hawaii in August 2023 when it held an employee training on white supremacy while more than 1,000 people were missing.

Kamala Harris says disaster relief should be based on race

Kamala said during an event at the 2022 Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum with actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas that disaster relief for Hurricane Ian that hit Florida that year should be prioritized on race.

“It is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making,” Kamala said.

Chopra added women, and Kamala agreed.

“And so we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding not everyone starts out at the same place,” Kamala claimed. “And if we want people to be in an equal palace, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities and do that work.”

Americans will needlessly suffer after a disaster because of Kamala Harris’ woke equity agenda.

Disaster victims would get sent to the back of the line based on their race.
