FBI Just Smashed One Of America’s Oldest Street Gangs After They Made This Fatal Mistake

Feb 3, 2026

Kash Patel's FBI has been on a tear.

After crushing MS-13 and dismantling Tren de Aragua, the bureau just announced another massive takedown.

And this time, the Latin Kings made the mistake of threatening the wrong people – federal law enforcement officers.

Kash Patel's FBI Operation Broken Crown Swept Through 13 States In Total Silence

Thirteen FBI field offices spent three months quietly coordinating what became one of the largest Latin Kings takedowns in years.

They called it Operation Broken Crown.

Nearly 50 gang members arrested. More than a dozen firearms seized. Almost $200,000 in dirty money confiscated. Over 10 kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl and other poison pulled off the streets. The Latin Kings never saw it coming because the FBI kept their mouths shut until every warrant was executed.

It started last October when a gang member explicitly threatened a law enforcement officer. That was their first mistake. The FBI doesn't take kindly to criminals putting targets on cops' backs.

Then came their second blunder – one of them broke into an FBI vehicle during the Minneapolis riots and stole a rifle. Raul Gutierrez thought vandalism was a free pass. The FBI tracked him down with help from the DEA and ATF, and arrested him in January.

Gutierrez turned out to be exactly what you'd expect – a Latin Kings member already known for dealing fentanyl and methamphetamine. The kind of scum who floods neighborhoods with poison for profit.

Latin Kings Gang Has Faced FBI Takedowns Before But They Kept Coming Back

This isn't the first time the Latin Kings have faced federal heat.

Back in December 2019, the FBI Boston Division executed their largest takedown in history – more than 60 gang members arrested in one coordinated strike. They seized dozens of firearms including machine guns and sawed-off shotguns. The operation even recovered two missing teenage boys who'd gotten caught up in gang activity.

One of those arrested should tell you everything about how these predators operate. Shaun Harrison worked as an academic dean at a Boston public school. Respected educator by day, Latin Kings enforcer by night. He recruited one of his own students into the gang, put the kid to work selling marijuana at school, then tried to murder him when things went sideways.

That's who we're dealing with. Criminals who infiltrate schools, recruit children, and execute them when convenient.

The FBI has hit them in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania over the years. RICO cases. Murder charges. Drug trafficking operations shut down. But the Latin Kings always crawled back.

Trump Administration Gang Crackdown Under Kash Patel Runs A Different Playbook

Here's what terrifies every gangbanger in America right now.

In 2025, the FBI saw a 210% increase in gang takedowns targeting MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. Read that number again – 210%.

Since Trump took office on January 20, 2025, the FBI has made over 25,000 immigration-related arrests. They've arrested 350 Tren de Aragua members and 195 MS-13 members. They've seized 66,600 kilograms of cocaine, 6,675 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 1,500 kilograms of fentanyl.

Those aren't bureaucrat statistics designed to make politicians look busy. Those are results that save American lives.

The State Department designated six cartels and four transnational gangs as foreign terrorist organizations in February 2025. The FBI responded by creating the Counter Cartel Coordination Center – every tool they have focused on one mission: destroy these criminals.

Attorney General Pam Bondi was crystal clear about what Operation Broken Crown represents. The Trump administration is dismantling violent gang networks at a record pace, breaking their operations and saving lives.

In Milwaukee, agents hit five locations in January and arrested four Latin Kings members on drug and weapons charges. They pulled ten guns off the street and confiscated over $120,000 in cash – money that would've bought more poison to kill your neighbors' kids.

Then they arrested two more gang members and recovered a rifle someone had illegally modified into an automatic weapon.

An Indianapolis investigation put one of these dealers away for 21 years after he pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine across multiple states.

Patel made the mission clear: "We will continue working 24/7 to crush violent crime and eliminate networks facilitating harm on the American people."

The Latin Kings thought threatening federal officers and stealing FBI weapons would go unpunished. They discovered Kash Patel's FBI doesn't negotiate with criminals. They arrest them, prosecutors indict them, and judges sentence them.

No apologies for enforcing the law. No hand-wringing about root causes. No sympathy for predators who poison communities. Just arrests, prosecutions, and prison cells.
