Elon Musk became one of the biggest players in the Presidential election.
His interest in politics isn’t going away.
And Elon Musk made one promise that was bad news for Democrats and the establishment.
Elon Musk’s new PAC is going to continue to be active
Tesla CEO Elon Musk was one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 Election.
He endorsed President-elect Donald Trump after he was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
Musk quickly became one of the most influential supporters of Trump.
He held town halls across the battleground state of Pennsylvania, and his America PAC gave away $1 million a day starting in September until Election Day to registered voters in swing states who signed a pledge to support the First and Second Amendments.
Musk poured $200 million into America PAC this election, according to Associated Press sources, to turn out low-propensity voters for Trump.
A March ruling from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) allowed campaigns to have greater coordination with PACs for get-out-the-vote efforts.
That allowed the Trump campaign to turn over much of its ground game to groups like America PAC, Turning Point USA, and the Faith and Freedom Coalition.
“The FEC ruling cleared the way for us to gain more benefit from soft money enterprises that were going out and doing this work anyway,” Trump campaign political director James Blair said. “By conserving hard dollars, we were able to go wider and deeper on paid voter contact and advertising programs.”
Soft dollars are the unlimited money that PACs can raise, while hard money is the campaign contributions that have federal donor limits.
America PAC made a big splash this election and Musk announced that it wasn’t going anywhere.
“Normally, PACs go somewhat dormant after a big election,” Musk wrote on X. “[America PAC] is going to do the opposite and keep grinding, increasing Republican registrations in key districts around the country, in preparation for special elections and the midterms.”
“And, of course, play a significant role in primaries,” Musk added.
Musk plans to stay active in politics beyond this election and he’s making it known he’s not afraid to mix it up in a Republican Primary.
By doing so he’ll be able to influence the political landscape moving forward.
Elon Musk can help counteract Democrats’ big money advantage
Vice President Kamala Harris raised more than $1 billion after she entered the race in July.
Democrats have become the party of Big Tech, Big Labor, Wall Street, and Hollywood.
They were able to outspend Republicans in the Presidential, Senate, and House races this cycle.
Money isn’t everything in politics, but having the support of Musk, the world’s richest man, can blunt some of the Democrats’ financial advantage.
Musk told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson that America PAC paid for buses to take voters to the poll.
He was even able to give Amish voters in Pennsylvania a ride vote.
“The Democrats did make a mistake because there was government overreach . . . that shut down some Amish farmers, which really made them upset,” Musk said. “And you just need to be able to channel that, the fact that they’re upset, like, ‘Well, there’s a thing you can do about it, which is called voting, and we’re happy to transport.’”
Elon Musk is setting himself up to be an influential force in politics moving forward.
