Ronald Reagan told Gorbachev in 1985 that America would fight an alien invasion together with the Soviet Union.
Every president since buried that conversation along with everything else the government knew about UFOs.
But Donald Trump’s own UFO advisor just said what happens next could dwarf every presidency in human history.
What Trump Has Actually Done on UFOs
The media won't give him credit for it, but Donald Trump has done more to pull back the curtain on UFOs than any president since Eisenhower first started classifying this material.
Since February, Trump has directed Pete Hegseth and the entire national security apparatus to locate and release government files on UAPs – documents that have been locked away for decades.
Five separate batches have now been released, totaling hundreds of documents, videos, and images.
The fifth batch dropped August 7th and included 41 files spanning from 1950 through 2026.
Among them: a military pilot's account of a massive triangle that blocked out the stars over Afghanistan in 2002.
Infrared footage of unexplained objects over the Pacific.

FBI-created digital renderings of multiple red orbs reported near Colorado Springs in 2023.
All of it is labeled "unresolved."
The Harvard Physicist Running Trump's UFO Council Just Said Something Extraordinary
Avi Loeb isn't some fringe conspiracy theorist.
He's a Harvard physicist who ran Harvard's Astronomy department for nine years, served on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and has published over a thousand scientific papers.
Trump tapped him to lead the new UAP Science Advisory Council – tasked by the White House, the Pentagon, the FBI, and the intelligence community to figure out what these things actually are.
And this week, Loeb said something that should stop every American in their tracks.
"Obviously, for a president, it would be a great boon if, during his term, we discovered we're not alone – that we have a neighbor in our cosmic environment," Loeb told AlterNet. "That kind of discovery would be remembered millions of years into the future. It's not like a dispute with another nation, which in a century will likely be forgotten. This would be a major discovery that shapes the future of humanity."
Millions of years.
That's the scale Loeb is talking about.
Not a news cycle. Not a second term. Not even a century.
The man Trump put in charge of America's UFO investigation just said this presidency could be remembered longer than written human civilization has existed.
The Cover-Up Predates Anyone Currently in Washington
The files Trump is releasing stretch back to 1950.

That's 75 years of government agencies collecting evidence of unexplained phenomena and locking it away from the people who paid for it.
Reagan saw something strange in the sky over California in 1974, years before he ever entered the White House.
He was troubled enough by what he knew that at the 1985 Geneva Summit he raised the subject directly with Gorbachev – asking whether the two superpowers would cooperate if Earth faced an alien invasion.
Gorbachev reportedly changed the subject.
Two years later, at the United Nations, Reagan pushed the thought further in front of the entire world: "Perhaps we need some outside universal threat… is not an alien force already among us?"
None of it was taken seriously.
Every administration after him sat on the files.
Trump is the first to actually open them.
What the Council Is Demanding Next
Loeb's UAP Science Advisory Council has already submitted requests for more than 50 classified items covering past incidents and related materials.
The council reports to a UAP Governance Board spanning the White House, Pentagon, FBI, and the full intelligence community.
They've also pushed for a formal process that lets government insiders come forward with what they know – without risking prosecution for breaking the secrecy agreements they signed.
That matters.

It means Trump's team believes the five batches released so far aren't the whole story.
Loeb's approach is disciplined: treat UAPs as human-made technology until evidence forces a different conclusion.
If that conclusion ever comes – if even one of these encounters turns out to be something genuinely non-human – then Trump will have presided over the most consequential moment in the history of civilization.
Reagan saw it coming.
Loeb put a number on it.
And Trump is the only president who actually opened the files.
