Trump campaign attacks Hunter Bidens’s conviction on gun charges
A federal jury convicted Hunter Biden on three felony charges related to lying on a federal background check form about his illegal drug use to purchase a handgun in 2018.
The conviction concluded one part of the Justice Department’s politically tainted investigation into the President’s son that began back in 2018.
Biden awaits a federal trial in California on tax charges that’s scheduled to begin in early September.
The media seized on the President’s son being convicted as proof that the justice system hasn’t been politicized.
And they claimed that this proved there wasn’t a two-tiered justice system in the country.
Trump campaign national Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt put out a statement calling Hunter Biden’s conviction a “distraction.”
“This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia, and Ukraine,” Leavitt said. “Crooked Joe Biden’s reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit.”
The real story with Hunter Biden was always the influence peddling racket he ran and his dad’s connection to it.
His treatment by the Biden Justice Department was contrary to the media’s bogus narrative proof that there’s a two-tiered justice system.
Biden Justice Department tried to let Hunter Biden skate on criminal charges
The nearly six-year investigation into Hunter Biden was tainted by political interference in his favor every step of the way.
Then-U.S. Attorney David Weiss was ready to let the President’s son walk last year.
“Mr. Weiss appeared willing to forgo any prosecution of Mr. Biden at all, and his office came close to agreeing to end the investigation without requiring a guilty plea on any charges. But the correspondence reveals that his position, relayed through his staff, changed in the spring, around the time a pair of I.R.S. officials on the case accused the Justice Department of hamstringing the investigation,” The New York Times reported.
An IRS whistleblower who worked the probe into Hunter Biden came forward with bombshell allegations of political interference from the top of the Biden Justice Department and IRS.
Weiss and the Justice Department slow-walked the investigation, which allowed many of Biden’s potential crimes to expire from the statute of limitations running out.
The clock ran out on crimes related to Hunter Biden’s time with Ukrainian energy company Burisma while Joe Biden was Vice President.
Hunter Biden received a sweetheart plea deal last year that would have seen him plead guilty to two misdemeanors, enter a diversion program for the gun charge, and receive no jail time.
But the plea deal fell apart after questioning from a federal judge who knew it didn’t pass the smell test.
Hunter Biden’s conviction on gun charges is a distraction from his family’s influence peddling operation.
