Norway is getting rich selling Britain its own oil back at double the price.
Now Trump just told the world exactly what that means – and the British Prime Minister answered him live on television.
The answer was so absurd it deserves to go in a museum.
UK Energy Crisis Is Deindustrialising Britain While the North Sea Sits Untouched
Aberdeen, Scotland was one of the wealthiest cities on Earth.
The North Sea oil boom of the 1970s and 1980s turned a cold Scottish port into a global energy hub – rigs everywhere, money flowing, workers with real jobs doing real things.
Then the green ideology arrived.
Britain's Labour government began strangling North Sea production through permitting delays, windfall taxes, and outright bans on new exploration.
The result is exactly what you'd expect.
Britain is now one of the most energy-expensive countries in the developed world – paying industrial electricity prices roughly double the EU median and still 75% above pre-crisis levels – while factories close and production moves overseas.
This is what the green agenda actually looks like when it runs a country.
Watch it carefully, because the American Left wants to run the same experiment here.
Keir Starmer Responded to Trump on North Sea Oil Drilling and Said This
Trump went to Truth Social this week and said the quiet part out loud.
"Europe is desperate for Energy, and yet the United Kingdom refuses to open North Sea Oil, one of the greatest fields in the World. Tragic!!!"
He pointed out that Norway – sitting on the same North Sea, with worse geography for drilling – sells its oil to Britain at double the price.
Then he said Aberdeen "should be booming."
Then he said: "U.K., which is better situated on the North Sea for purposes of energy than Norway, should, DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!!"

Parliament was already in session when Trump posted.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer was being grilled on the energy crisis at that exact moment.
His answer: "in the long term, the only way to get energy dependence is to go further and faster on renewables and that's what we're doing."
Read that sentence again.
Britain is sitting on billions of barrels of oil and gas under the North Sea – verified reserves, proven fields, infrastructure already partially built – and the Prime Minister's answer to an energy crisis is more wind turbines.
From China.
Joe Biden said the same things for four years.
He killed the Keystone XL Pipeline on day one, locked up federal land, and left 5,684 drilling permit applications sitting in a pile when Trump walked back into the White House.
Britain elected its Biden. America fired theirs.
Nigel Farage Explains Where Britain's Imported Gas Actually Comes From
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been making this argument for years – and he puts it in terms no one can argue with.
Most of the gas Britain imports right now comes from Montana.
Workers extract it from American soil, liquify it, ship it across the Atlantic, re-gas it at a British terminal, then pipe it to wherever it needs to go.
And somewhere under the North Sea – closer to Britain than Norway, in British territorial waters – sits enough oil and gas to make all of that unnecessary.
Farage said of the politicians claiming domestic drilling wouldn't lower prices: "These people haven't got a scooby doo. They've no idea how the world works."
He's right.
Produce your own energy, control your own supply, stop competing on the global import market for fuel someone else owns.
That's how prices come down.

Trump proved it in America.
The Interior Department has approved over 6,000 drilling permits since Trump returned to office – the most in the last 15 fiscal years – and American energy prices reflect it.
Ed Miliband's Net Zero Agenda Is Doing to Britain What Democrats Wanted to Do to America
Norway looked at the North Sea and decided to get rich.
Britain looked at the North Sea and decided to feel virtuous.
Ed Miliband – the green extremist Starmer appointed as energy secretary – has been the architect of the ban on new North Sea exploration licenses, insisting that doubling down on renewables is Britain's only path forward.
Norway's sovereign wealth fund, built almost entirely from North Sea oil revenues, now holds over a trillion dollars – paying for Norwegian roads, schools, hospitals, and retirements.
Britain is deindustrialising in real time, watching factories disappear, and paying whatever Norway decides to charge for oil pulled from the same water.
Trump called it "absolutely crazy" that Britain insists on importing energy at some of the highest prices in the world.
That's not a political observation.
That's just math.

AOC, Bernie Sanders, and every Democrat running on a Green New Deal wants to make America into Britain.
No pipelines. No drilling. No domestic production.
Just wind turbines, solar panels from China, and energy prices that hollow out your manufacturing base one factory at a time.
Trump watched what they did to Britain and named it for what it is.
The door to cheap energy, a booming industrial base, and genuine energy independence is open – because Trump kicked it open.
Britain's government chose to walk away from it.
Their voters are paying for that choice every month on their utility bills.
Ours aren't – because we put the right man back in the White House.
