Donald Trump Shot a 70 at 80 Years Old and the Media Absolutely Lost Their Minds

Aug 4, 2026

The left-wing media spent six months writing that Donald Trump was too old and too frail to function as President.

He just shot a 70 on a championship golf course and trash-talked every member of his own club.

And what he said to his doubters on Truth Social afterward is exactly why they will never, ever beat him.

Trump Takes the Trophy at Bedminster

On Saturday, President Trump entered the annual club championship at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey – one of the most demanding layouts in the country.

The Tom Fazio-designed course has hosted the U.S. Women's Open and multiple LIV Golf events, with water carries, deep bunkers, and enough rough to punish anyone who isn't striking the ball cleanly.

Trump shot a 70.

That's 2-under par on a course where most recreational golfers would be thrilled to break 90.

He captured both the Senior and Super Senior division titles – one of his reported 40-plus club championship victories across his properties.

A video posted Sunday showed Trump accepting both trophies at the awards ceremony while the crowd erupted.

He Had Something to Say About the Competition

Trump being Trump, he didn't exactly walk away quietly.

He posted video on Truth Social of what he called his winning shot – a pitch from roughly 40 yards that checked up about three feet from the hole.

Then came the message.

"The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship!" he wrote. "Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I'm given very little time to practice, because I'm focused on many other things. It's called TALENT, and I have it, and they don't!"

Those are his own club members he's trash-talking.

Men who paid millions for the privilege of belonging to his club.

Men who he just beat on a Tom Fazio championship course.

And he called them all talentless.

Magnificent.

The Media Had a Very Bad Sunday

The same blue-check journalists who questioned Trump's physical fitness – the same people who never once questioned whether Joe Biden could walk to a podium unassisted – got an answer they weren't expecting.

Their entire narrative collapsed before breakfast.

Trump's own physician has certified he is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief, and the left-wing media responded by ignoring that certification and running the decline story anyway.

Now they'll demand certified scorecards, insist on third-party attestation from playing partners,  and call for the handicap committee to convene an emergency review.

It won't matter.

This Is Why They Can't Beat Him

Trump turned 80 in June.

He plays golf the way he does everything else – loudly, competitively, and with complete contempt for anyone who says he can't.

Last year at this same Bedminster tournament, the White House posted a scorecard showing he carded a 69 and won the event by 10 gross strokes.

After Saturday's round he flew back on Air Force One to resume nuclear negotiations with Iran.

That's the part the media never processes.

They think the story is a golf score – whether it's really 70, whether some neutral official signed the card, whether the field was competitive enough to count.

Trump's supporters understand something different.

They see a man who was told in 2016 he couldn't win.

A man who survived two impeachments, an assassination attempt, a criminal prosecution, and a four-year media campaign designed to end him.

He won every single time.

Now they're telling him he didn't really shoot a 70.

He'll add two more trophies to the wall, post about it on Truth Social, and dare them to do something about it.

That's not arrogance.

That's the whole story of Donald Trump in one afternoon at Bedminster.
