Donald Trump was sent by voters to end business as usual in Washington, D.C.
He’s ready to take a wrecking ball to the federal bureaucracy.
And Donald Trump sent one scary message that the Washington, D.C. Swamp will hate.
Donald Trump will put America first with his cabinet picks
President-elect Donald Trump has already announced multiple cabinet picks that created a political firestorm in Washington, D.C.
The political class went into a frenzy over former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) being nominated for Attorney General and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. being nominated for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Marc Lotter, who served as a special assistant to Trump, told Newsmax that the President-elect will nominate people who “believe in putting America first, not bureaucrats.”
That willingness to shake things up in Washington, D.C. has the media “losing its mind because they’re losing control.”
“The one thread you see running through all of these nominees is that they believe in the President’s agenda and the American people,” Lotter explained. “They’ll lead these teams of bureaucrats, but they’re going to lead them in the direction that the President wants to go. He was the one who was elected, not them.”
Lotter said that the media’s freakout about the nominations of Gaetz and Kennedy is a “continuation” of the “scare tactics” used during the Presidential campaign.
Donald Trump faces a battle to get some of his cabinet nominees confirmed
Journalists are hoping to tank those nominations by dialing up the fearmongering.
“They can’t actually argue policy so they want to make you afraid,” Lotter said. “They want to resist through fear. I don’t think the American people are buying it.”
Lotter predicted that Kennedy would be able to handle questioning from the Senate during his confirmation hearing.
“I have no doubt that both he and the President will likely continue on a path where the science, the health, they all match up and they’re all in alignment,” Lotter stated.
He noted that the media is uncomfortable when Kennedy or any of Trump’s nominees question the Washington, D.C. consensus.
“That’s the thing that really strikes me, especially about the media,” Lotter added. “Your job is to ask questions. Why are you afraid of someone asking questions?”
Lotter pointed out that Trump’s nominees weren’t a part of the in-crowd in Washington, D.C. who followed the typical career path.
“D.C. operates on a very simple system,” Lotter explained. “There are certain career paths you must follow to get these most coveted positions and when the ‘Swamp’ signs off on you, then you’re a member of the club, regardless of your party.”
Senate RINOs have signaled that they’ll fight Gaetz and some of Trump’s other nominations.
Lotter noted that every President hasn’t been able to get every person confirmed that they wanted in their cabinet.
“At least one cabinet pick up, regardless of who’s in office, doesn’t make it through,” Lotter said. “Most administrations, regardless of party, go through this and one of their picks suddenly gets revoked and removed.”
Cabinet nominations could be Donald Trump’s first major battle with the “Swamp” after he returns to the White House.
