Jasmine Crockett spent years making herself the most hated Democrat in America – and Trump just admitted he moved her out of the way on purpose.
Now the man he says he engineered into the Texas Senate nomination – a vegan seminarian who thinks God is nonbinary – is about to find out what that avalanche feels like.
Trump is sitting on a pile of opposition research he deliberately withheld, and he just told everyone.
Trump Called Talarico a Fraud and Said He Held Back the Real Opposition Research
On Sunday morning, Trump took to Truth Social and unloaded on James Talarico, the 36-year-old Texas state representative who beat Crockett in the March 3 Democrat primary by about seven points.
The post called Talarico a "FRAUD" and ticked off his greatest hits: six genders, "insults to Jesus," vegan food, and mask-wearing through 2024.
Then came the part that should terrify every Democrat in Texas.
Trump wrote that Talarico is "a weak, ineffective guy who we 'allowed' to win prior to releasing the avalanche of information we had on him because, as bad as Crockett was as a Candidate, this guy is worse."
Read that again.

Trump isn't just attacking Talarico. He's saying he held back. He's saying the real damage hasn't started yet.
He's announcing that whatever beat Jasmine Crockett was the preview – and the main event is still coming.
Why Trump Wanted Jasmine Crockett Out and Talarico In
Republicans were cheering Crockett's entry into the race from the moment she filed in December 2025.
She came in late, built her campaign around name recognition instead of infrastructure, and carried a national reputation built entirely on viral screaming matches with Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.
That's great for fundraising emails. It's a disaster in a state Trump won by 13 points.
Crockett's entire brand was the fight. She didn't try to hide it.
When reporters asked if she'd need to win over Trump voters in Texas, she said no – she'd just turn out new voters instead.
In a state that hasn't elected a Democrat statewide since 1994, that's not a strategy. That's a concession speech written early.
Talarico understood this.
He ran a "politics of love" campaign rooted in his Christian faith, campaigned in the reddest counties in the state, and dominated with Hispanic and white Democratic primary voters.
He raised $20.7 million – more than Crockett, more than incumbent Republican John Cornyn – and won 52.8% of the primary vote.
Republicans recognized immediately what they had.

NBC News reported after the primary that some in the GOP viewed Talarico as a tougher general election opponent because of his broader appeal.
Senate Majority Leader Thune called Democrats already having their nominee "not helpful" for Republicans heading into the runoff.
The God Is Nonbinary Quote Is Just the Beginning of What Republicans Have on Talarico
Here's what Trump isn't saying out loud yet – and what every Texas conservative needs to understand before November.
Talarico didn't just say "God is nonbinary" once and walk it back.
He said it on the floor of the Texas House in 2021, on the record, and when pressed about it this week he doubled down: "If someone has a problem with that, they shouldn't take it up with me, they should take it up with the Apostle Paul."
That's not a gaffe. That's a man who believes it and will say it again.
In a separate Texas House hearing, Talarico declared that modern science recognizes six biological sexes – not six genders, six biological sexes.
He admitted the number "surprised" him too, which is the only honest thing about the statement.
In 2020 tweets that are sitting in a server right now waiting to run in September ads, Talarico called racism a "virus" that white Americans spread "wherever we go – through our words, our actions, and our systems."
He wasn't quoting someone. He was describing himself.

On Joe Rogan's show, he used the story of the Virgin Mary to justify abortion.
On the Ezra Klein podcast, he said abortion and homosexuality aren't really discussed in Scripture and that Christians were manipulated into caring about them for fifty years.
He wants to abolish the Senate filibuster. He wants to put a "welcome mat" on the southern border.
Every one of those quotes is a thirty-second ad that writes itself.
In a state Trump won by 13 points. Against a Republican base that goes to church every Sunday.
That's what an avalanche looks like. And it hasn't started yet.
