Donald Trump Posted One Hilarious Cartoon of Rosie O’Donnell After She Winked at Him on Live TV

Aug 21, 2026

Rosie O'Donnell left for Ireland five days before Trump's inauguration.

She recently showed up on national television to tell America she hasn't stopped thinking about him.

But Donald Trump posted this hilarious cartoon that sent Rosie O’Donnell into a fit of rage.

She Said She Left Because of Trump and Then Spent an Hour Talking About Him

O'Donnell took the Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest host chair Monday while Kimmel is on summer vacation.

Jimmy Kimmel – who has made a second career out of crying about Trump – handpicked O'Donnell as his replacement, calling it a "special treat."

It was a treat, all right.

Opening her monologue, O'Donnell called Trump "Mango Mussolini" and told the audience the president hated the show before she even got there.

"Buckle up, people," she said.

She spent the bulk of her time praising Ireland, telling stories about how warmly the Irish welcomed her, and painting herself as a political exile driven out of America by a tyrant.

Her teenage child, she told the crowd, had to inform classmates they were moving abroad because "the president of the United States hates my mother."

Near the end of her monologue, O'Donnell looked directly into the camera and said, "Hi, I know you're watching."

Trump responded on Truth Social with an AI-generated cartoon of O'Donnell in multiple scenarios – all of them involving her thinking about Trump.

The caption: "She (?) is obsessed!"

The Woman Who Left America Cannot Stop Talking About America

This feud started in December 2006 when O'Donnell criticized Trump on The View over his handling of the Miss USA scandal.

Trump fired back with insults, legal threats, and press appearances.

By August 2015, their grudge had become a presidential debate moment when Megyn Kelly asked Trump about past comments toward women and he responded, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."

O'Donnell spent the Trump 47 years oscillating between rage and irrelevance, finding that attacks on Trump were the only thing keeping her name in the news cycle.

She admitted as much to Variety – crediting Trump with making her "re-famous."

Then in January 2025 – five days before Trump's inauguration – she moved her family to Ireland.

She announced it on TikTok, telling followers she had read Project 2025 and decided it was time to go.

Trump's response was characteristically unsparing.

"Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship," Trump wrote on Truth Social in July 2025. "She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

The White House piled on.

"What great news for America!" White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said when O'Donnell announced she was applying for Irish citizenship.

"Rosie O'Donnell clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome," Jackson added separately, "and it's better for the entire country that she decided to move away."

Nobody Is Fooled by the Bit Anymore

Curtis Houck, managing editor of NewsBusters, cut straight through the performance Monday.

"Rosie O'Donnell is painfully unfunny and the personification of letting politics run your life, with whoever is in power determining your happiness," Houck told Fox News Digital.

"She hasn't been arrested and hauled off to some Trump-branded gulag," he added. "She's still gainfully employed doing whatever it is she does to make money."

That's the part they don't want you to think about too hard.

O'Donnell called Trump an authoritarian, called him Mussolini, called him a threat to democracy – and then flew back to America for a media tour and sat in a late-night chair on national television.

She told the audience her move to Ireland was "my refuge and my salvation."

She didn't mention that her salvation came with a late-night television booking and a full media blitz.

Twenty years ago Rosie O'Donnell was a genuinely famous person with a television show people actually watched.

Today the only thing keeping her relevant is a cartoon posted by the 47th President of the United States.

He knows it.

She knows it.

And yet here we are – still.
