Donald Trump Just Told the World One Number That Makes Every Democrat Wish Joe Biden Never Happened

Apr 5, 2026

Joe Biden spent four years strangling American energy while begging Saudi Arabia to pump more oil.

Now Trump is speaking to the nation about the Iran war – and he just dropped a number that buries Biden's entire legacy.

America is producing more oil and gas than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined – and Trump said it on national television.

Trump's Drill Baby Drill Results Are In and They Are Not Close

The U.S. pumped 13.58 million barrels of oil per day in 2025.

Russia managed 9.87 million.

Saudi Arabia came in at 9.51 million.

Combined, America's two biggest rivals produced 19.38 million barrels – and America beat them both, alone, with room to spare.

Trump spelled it out during his Wednesday night address to the nation on the Iran war.

"Because of the Trump administration's policies, we produce more oil and gas than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined," he said.

"There's no country like us anywhere in the world, and we're in great shape for the future."

He's right.

Natural gas output hit a record 107–108 billion cubic feet per day in 2025 – and the U.S. has held the title of world's largest natural gas producer since 2009.

Biden Killed Keystone and Left 5684 Drilling Permits Sitting in a Pile

It took 70 years for America to reach this moment.

For most of that time, Washington politicians told you America was running out of oil – and that you had to accept dependence on foreign regimes that hated you.

Fracking and horizontal drilling changed everything.

Those technologies unlocked resources experts called uneconomic, turning Texas and North Dakota into global energy powers overnight.

America became a net oil exporter in 2018 – the first time since the 1970s – and passed both Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's largest producer that same year.

Then Biden showed up.

He killed the Keystone XL Pipeline on day one.

He locked up federal land.

He left 5,684 drilling permit applications sitting in a pile when Trump walked back into the White House.

The Interior Department has now approved over 6,000 drilling permits – the most in the last 15 fiscal years.

That's the difference between a president who wants America dominant and one who wanted America apologizing.

Iran Shut Down the Strait of Hormuz and Proved Trump Right

The countries that bet against American energy are now begging for supply from the market they spent years trying to shut down.

Iran has been launching attacks on commercial oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz – a waterway that carries roughly 20 percent of global petroleum trade.

Countries that depend on Middle Eastern oil and refused to join the coalition against Iran are watching their energy supplies collapse.

Trump's message to them was blunt: buy oil from America, or go secure the Strait yourself.

"We don't need it. We haven't needed it," Trump said of Hormuz oil imports.

Only 7 percent of U.S. crude exports pass through the Strait.

Gas prices at the pump have spiked above $4 a gallon – a short-term hit caused entirely by Iran targeting tankers.

Trump acknowledged it and explained it straight.

"This short-term increase has been entirely the result of the Iranian regime launching deranged terror attacks against commercial oil tankers," he said.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum called the price spike "a temporary blip" – and the projections back him up.

The EIA forecasts crude prices falling below $80 per barrel in the third quarter of 2026 and settling near $70 by year's end.

Trump has already released 172 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, waived the Jones Act, and approved summer ethanol blend sales to drive pump prices down faster.

Biden's answer to high gas prices was to call Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and ask for more oil – and get laughed out of the room.

Trump's answer is to produce so much oil that the Saudis become irrelevant.

America doesn't beg anymore.

That's what winning looks like.
