A Honduran man in California checked the box that said “I am a US citizen” – and signed it under penalty of perjury.
Federal agents arrested him three days ago, and the prosecutor who announced the charges said something that should stop every American cold.
Now DHS is sending investigators into nine states before Election Day – and Democrats are terrified.
The Arrest That Blew the Door Open
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores, 30, of Winnetka, California, is not a U.S. citizen.
He never applied to become one.
He entered the country from Honduras in 2002, has lived here for nearly a quarter century as a lawful permanent resident, and when election time came around, he apparently decided those pesky citizenship requirements didn’t apply to him.
He registered to vote online on November 4, 2025 – the same day California was voting on Governor Gavin Newsom’s new Democrat-friendly congressional district map – and listed his birthplace as “United States of America.”
That was a lie.
He now faces two federal felony charges: false claim to U.S. citizenship and fraudulent voter registration.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli didn’t mince words when he stepped in front of the cameras: “Today’s arrest is the first of many to come.”
Then he said something the media doesn’t want you to hear.
“Unfortunately, because states like California allow non-citizens to easily register to vote and receive a ballot by mail, there’s no telling how many non-citizens are currently registered to vote,” he said.
DHS Already Found 250,000 of Them
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin already gave America a partial answer in July – and the number is jaw-dropping.
A preliminary DHS review found 190,832 potential noncitizens registered to vote in California alone.
Across just four states – California, New Jersey, Nevada, and Pennsylvania – DHS identified more than 250,000 potential noncitizens on the voter rolls.
“Election security is national security,” Mullin said at the time. “Only Americans should be electing American leaders.”
California responded by refusing to turn over its voter roll data.
Pennsylvania pushed back on the numbers.

Nevada’s secretary of state said he had no idea what DHS was talking about – until three days later, when Mullin released the data showing his state had tens of thousands of potential noncitizen registrations.
And now, starting today, Homeland Security Investigations is surging into nine states with a mandate to find them, interview them, and hand cases to federal prosecutors before November.
The Agents Who Hunt Child Predators Are Now Hunting Illegal Voters
HSI – the same arm of ICE that hunts human traffickers, drug smugglers, and child predators – is now deploying investigators in Washington state, Wisconsin, Missouri, Georgia, California, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York, and Connecticut.
The operation runs through mid-October – directly into the final weeks before the November midterms.
The official DHS guidance calls it a “coordinated criminal voter fraud surge initiative.”
Rivera Flores isn’t the only one who got caught.
Earlier this year, a Colombian woman in Massachusetts named Lina Maria Orovio-Hernandez was convicted of voting illegally in the 2024 presidential election.
Federal prosecutors caught her because she walked out of her polling place wearing an “I Voted” sticker – caught on surveillance camera.
Federal investigators said her actions were “not a one-time mistake or accident.”
These aren’t isolated incidents.
They’re a pattern – and Trump is the first president willing to go find it.
What Democrats Don’t Want Counted
The left’s response to all of this has been to scream about voter suppression and call the investigations a threat to democracy.
What they refuse to answer is the simple question: if noncitizens aren’t voting, why won’t you let DHS audit the rolls?
California has refused to share its voter rolls with DHS – and won’t say how many noncitizens it thinks are on them.

New Jersey’s own internal review found 6,600 noncitizens erroneously registered – a fraction of what DHS found, but proof the problem is real – and still pushed back on Mullin’s figures.
Every state blocking these audits is run by Democrats.
Every state cooperating with DHS – 25 states ran their rolls through federal verification systems and found 28,000 potential noncitizen registrations and more than 400,000 dead people still on the books – is moving toward cleaner elections.
Democrats need every possible vote they can get in November.
Trump is making sure only American citizens provide them.
The only question left is how many names those agents are about to find – and whether Democrats can stop them before November.
