Bill Maher baselessly claimed Donald Trump is having an affair
Democrats and the media cast about for any hook to attack Donald Trump and ignore Kamala Harris’ failures on the border, inflation, and in foreign policy.
The latest shiny object in the media is Laura Loomer.
Loomer is a controversial social media figure who supports Donald Trump and flew on the plane with Trump to attend the debate.
The media hates Loomer because of her bombastic personality.
But Loomer also believes in debunked conspiracy theories and falsehoods about how 9/11 was an “inside job.”
Now the press is going beyond attacking Loomer as a fringe conspiracy theorist.
Bill Maher suggested that Loomer traveling with Trump meant the two were having a sexual affair.
“I think maybe Laura Loomer’s in an arranged relationship to influence the election because she’s very close to Trump. She’s 31, looks like his type,” Maher said on his Real Time show.
Maher cited Trump’s sexual history and multiple divorces to conjure up a rumor.
“Because I said, it’s not nobody. He’s been a dog for too long. And it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week,” Maher continued. “I think it might be Laura Loomer, I’m just saying.”
Trump, Loomer, and other conservatives responds
Loomer claimed in a post on X that she could sue Maher for defamation over the false claim she was having an affair with Trump.
“I should sue Bill Maher for Defamation,” Loomer wrote on social media. “This is beyond the pale and it’s a complete and blatant lie. I have never in my life seen such a coordinated attack by the mainstream Media, the White House and leftist personalities to target a private citizen and investigative journalist simply because I flew on a plane and I support Donald Trump.”
Trump and his supporters ignored the falsehoods Maher spewed to speak to the broader issue of Loomer traveling with Trump and the underhanded attempts by the media to tie Loomer’s more controversial statements to Trump and twist Loomer’s words into official campaign pronouncements.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote that Loomer had no affiliation with the campaign and that she was just a supporter.
“Laura Loomer doesn’t work for the Campaign. She’s a private citizen and longtime supporter. I disagree with the statements she made but, like the many millions of people who support me, she is tired of watching the Radical Left Marxists and Fascists violently attack and smear me, even to the point of doing anything to stop their Political Opponent, ME! I am now in California, which Democrats like Comrade Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newscum have completely DESTROYED. I will turn it all around and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump posted.
But not all Trump allies agree.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene told reporters that she thought Loomer bought into too many conspiracy theories and that it wasn’t a good idea to have her traveling with Trump and offering advice.
“This is such an important election. I don’t think she has the experience or the right mentality to advise a very important presidential election,” Greene stated.
