Donald Trump Just Freed Government Insiders to Reveal What They Know About UFOs

Jul 24, 2026

Something was hovering over the Pantex nuclear weapons facility in Texas in 2015 – and the US government just declassified what it saw.

Now Trump is making it legal for the people who know more to talk.

And what they know – according to one Air Force intelligence officer already under oath before Congress – could be the biggest story in American history.

The NDAs That Kept the Lid On

Here's how the silence worked.

When government employees and defense contractors received security clearances, they signed nondisclosure agreements.

Those agreements followed them out the door when they left government service.

Talk without authorization – you lose your clearance.

Talk more – civil penalties.

Talk the wrong thing the wrong way – criminal prosecution.

That system worked perfectly for decades.

Perfectly, that is, if your goal was making sure nobody ever said a word about what they'd seen.

Marco Rubio – then vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee – described in 2023 exactly what that silence looked like up close.

"Some of these people still work in the government and frankly, a lot of them are very fearful – fearful of their jobs, fearful of their clearances, fearful of their career, and some, frankly, are fearful of harm coming to them," Rubio said.

These weren't conspiracy theorists.

These were cleared government personnel with firsthand knowledge – who had signed paperwork that functionally made speaking up a career-ending, possibly prison-adjacent decision.

Trump just changed that equation.

What the Directive Actually Does

Former government employees and contractors who believe they have relevant UAP information can now meet with officials at AARO – the Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office – or with the president's UAP task force, PURSUE.

During those authorized meetings, prior NDAs get waived.

Witnesses can speak without fear of violating agreements they signed years or decades ago.

A senior administration official put it plainly: "We are eliminating that source of reluctance."

This is not a declassification order.

Information shared through this process goes through existing review procedures before anything reaches the public.

"Any information that is received that sheds light on the UAP mystery will ultimately be made public," the official said.

The honest answer from the administration about what they expect to find: they don't know yet. "You don't know what you don't know," the official said.

The whole point is to find out whether witnesses with real information have been sitting silent because they believed they had no legal option.

Everything released so far says the answer is yes.

The Evidence Already Coming Out

This directive doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Trump's administration has been releasing declassified UAP files in waves throughout 2026.

The latest batch included new details on that 2015 Pantex incident – America's nuclear weapons assembly site – along with newly declassified infrared footage of a six-pointed star-shaped object tracked by U.S. military sensors over the Yellow Sea on January 1, 2025.

Earlier releases described "mother orbs" releasing smaller objects near sensitive national security sites, mysterious orange spheres during military operations, and Apollo-era transcripts where astronauts documented unexplained lights drifting outside their spacecraft.

This is what's cleared to be released.

What's still classified is the question.

And it's a question David Grusch has been trying to answer.

Billions Hidden from Congress

Grusch is a former Air Force intelligence officer who represented the National Reconnaissance Office on the Pentagon's UAP task force.

He testified before Congress under oath.

At a Capitol Hill press conference on June 9, he made an allegation that should have every American furious regardless of whether they believe in UFOs.

"This is also a real fraud, waste and abuse issue," Grusch said. "During my investigation, I found slush funds to the tune of billions of dollars per annum for these activities."

Billions. Per year. Hidden from congressional oversight.

Running outside the appropriations process that the Constitution requires.

The Pentagon has failed seven consecutive annual audits.

Members of Congress have pointed to trillions in Pentagon assets that remain untracked.

And Grusch is describing a specific mechanism – off-books funding channeled into programs that Congress was never allowed to examine.

The deep state didn't just keep secrets about what they found.

If Grusch is right, they spent your money to keep finding more of it.

The Pattern Is Older Than You Think

This isn't the first time the government ran secret UFO programs while publicly claiming there was nothing to see.

Project Blue Book ran from 1952 to 1969, logging more than 12,600 sighting reports from military pilots, police, and civilians.

The public face was rigorous scientific inquiry. The actual mandate – revealed in documents now declassified – was something else entirely.

A CIA committee met in 1953 and concluded the program's real objective was to debunk sightings aggressively enough to kill public interest in the subject.

Seventy years of "nothing to see here" – while the CIA ran a formal program to make sure you stopped asking.

The same institutions that lied to your face for seven decades are still operating today – same agencies, same classification bureaucracies, same instinct to keep you in the dark.

Trump isn't fighting the unknown here.

He's fighting people with names and budgets and retirement plans who have spent their careers making sure this moment never happened.

That's what makes today different.
