Kamala Harris is now the presumptive Democrat Party nominee for President.
As soon as Joe Biden dropped out of the race, Donald Trump made a major announcement.
And Donald Trump had this nasty surprise in store for Kamala Harris.
September debate now in question
Donald Trump accepted Joe Biden’s proposal for two Presidential debates.
The June 27 encounter proved so catastrophic for Biden that he dropped out of the race less than a month later.
A second debate was scheduled for early December with ABC set to televise the event.
But in Donald Trump’s statement reacting to Biden quitting in the face of certain defeat, he also made it clear that his agreement for the September debate was just with Joe Biden.
Trump also said ABC couldn’t be trusted to host a debate since they employed former Clinton hatchet man George Stephanopoulos and tried to falsely claim he was a straight newsman.
“My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the history of the United States, was slated to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, sometime in September,” Trump stated.
Trump stated that he would be willing to debate Harris but that Fox News would have to televise the affair.
“Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, has quit the race, I think the Debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on FoxNews, rather than very biased ABC. Thank you! DJT,” Trump added.
Trump confirms ABC debate is off
In a follow up post to Truth Social, Trump confirmed that the ABC debate was off due to the network’s complicity in covering up Joe Biden’s cognitive state and their obvious liberal bias.
“ABC Fake News is such a joke, among the absolute WORST in the business. They try to make Crooked Joe into a brave warrior because he didn’t have the “guts” to fight it out — He quit!” Trump wrote.
“They then tried to make ‘Sleepy’ look like a great President – he was the WORST, and Lyin’ Kamala into a competent person, which she is not. ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, is not worthy of holding a Debate, of which I hope there will be many! MAGA2024,” Trump added.
Democrats created this mess by deposing Joe Biden from the ticket and appointing a nominee no one has ever voted for in a Presidential Primary.
Even if the party wants to swiftly coalesce behind Kamala Harris, Donald Trump is under no obligation to help them out and agree to a debate with Harris.
The polls and the state of the race will determine that.
So far, the early polls show Trump maintaining his lead over Harris.
But this is Kamala Harris’ honeymoon phase.
If a debate will benefit Harris the most, Trump is under no obligation to agree to an event that holds no upside for him.
