Conservatives hoped this year would be different.
Donald Trump won a landslide and the GOP would control both Houses of Congress in 2025.
But House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) still caved in to Democrats and rolled out a 1,500-page spending bill, written in secret and dumped on Members of Congress horse before an expected vote, that fully funded Joe Biden’s agenda.
Just before Congress intended to vote on the bill, Donald Trump killed any chance of passage with a message on Truth Social.
Trump called the bill “political malpractice” and slammed Johnson for funding the Global Engagement Center, a State Department project that runs the online censorship industrial complex.
Johnson also handed Liz Cheney and other January 6 Committee members immunity from investigation by allowing them to quash subpoenas aimed at their digital and telecommunication records.
“It was political malpractice! Also, the Communist Global Engagement Center, a project of Crooked Hillary Clinton, should not in any way, shape, or form be extended and, the shielding of the very corrupt J6 Unselect Committee of Political Losers and Thugs would be suicidal for any Republican approving it,” Trump declared.
Trump also ridiculed the Swamp for trying to sneak through a pay rise while Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inflation is still crushing the American people’s take home pay.
“Likewise, this is not a good time for Congress to be asking for pay increases. Hopefully, you’ll be entitled to such an increase in the near future when we, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump continued.
Trump said this bill was a “mess” that would allow Democrats to handcuff his administration by locking Joe Biden’s agenda into place and forcing Trump to spend the first 100 days of his administration on a fight over the debt ceiling as opposed to passing legislation to secure the border, cut taxes, and ramp up domestic energy production.
“If Republicans try to pass a clean Continuing Resolution without all of the Democrat ‘bells and whistles’ that will be so destructive to our Country, all it will do, after January 20th, is bring the mess of the Debt Limit into the Trump Administration, rather than allowing it to take place in the Biden Administration,” Trump stated.
Trump wrapped up by putting Swamp RINOs on notice that anyone who voted for Johnson’s spending surrender would face a Trump-backed Primary challenger in 2026.
“Any Republican that would be so stupid as to do this should, and will, be Primaried. Everything should be done, and fully negotiated, prior to my taking Office on January 20th, 2025,” Trump warned.
