Donald Trump Demands Hakeem Jeffries Face Incitement Charges Over the Correspondents Dinner

May 11, 2026

Hakeem Jeffries stood in front of a sign that said "maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time" and called it leadership.

Then an armed man tried to force his way into the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Now Donald Trump wants to know why nobody is holding Jeffries accountable for what he said.

The Sign That Started Everything

The sequence of events matters here.

Republicans launched a redistricting fight, and Jeffries responded by planting a "maximum warfare" flag.

He didn't walk it back when the political climate turned dangerous.

When reporters came to him after the shooting attempt and asked about the language, he told them to "get lost."

"I don't give a damn about the criticism," Jeffries said.

Not a single word of reflection.

Just defiance.

Trump posted side-by-side images – the "maximum warfare" sign next to a surveillance photo of Cole Allen, the California man who showed up armed and tried to get inside the event.

"This lunatic, Hakeem 'Low IQ' Jeffries, should be charged with INCITING VIOLENCE!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia called it exactly what it is.

"The Democrat Party's rhetoric is demonic and dangerous," Clyde wrote.

Rep. Randy Fine of Florida demanded House Democrats hold their own leader accountable.

"It is unacceptable that House Democrats continue to remain silent in the aftermath of his call for 'maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time' against Republicans," Fine wrote.

Every House Democrat stayed quiet.

Every single one.

Democrats Built This Environment and Won't Own It

Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10th.

Shot by a sniper at Utah Valley University while speaking to young conservatives who believed the movement was winning.

In the weeks that followed, Republicans pleaded with Democrats to lower the temperature.

Democrats called it a distraction.

They kept right on talking about "warfare" and "resistance" and "fighting back" – the same language that travels from blue-check accounts to unhinged people sitting alone at 2 a.m., deciding the other side deserves what's coming to them.

And now Hakeem Jeffries, whose sign was photographed next to an armed man trying to crash a national press event, looked reporters in the eye and said he doesn't give a damn.

That's the party.

That's the leadership.

The Standard They Invented for Themselves

Democrats spent years arguing that political language creates political environments.

They made that argument after January 6th.

They make it every time a conservative says something they want to weaponize.

The standard is theirs. They built it. They enforced it selectively for years.

And now Jeffries plants a "maximum warfare" flag, a gunman shows up at a national press event, and suddenly words don't cause anything anymore.

That's a strategy for one-way accountability – where conservatives answer for every syllable and Democrats answer for nothing.

Trump is right to push back hard.

The question was never whether Jeffries personally handed the gunman a weapon.

The question is whether the Left gets to keep demanding consequences for conservative speech while their own leaders declare open warfare without a single reporter asking them to explain themselves.

Someone has to say it out loud.
