The Army missed its recruiting goal by 25 percent in 2022 – the worst shortfall since the all-volunteer military began in 1973.
That happened on the Democrats' watch, and this Memorial Day, Trump made sure no one forgot it.
He said it out loud, with one word, and every veteran in America knew exactly what he meant.
What Four Years of Democrat "Respect" Actually Looked Like
Trump's Monday morning post on Truth Social didn't waste a syllable: "Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year."
The record speaks for itself.
While Biden's Pentagon was spending at least $68 million on DEI programs in the Air Force alone, recruiters were begging kids to join.
The Army fell 15,000 soldiers short in 2022.
The Navy, the Air Force, and the Army all missed again in 2023 – a combined shortfall of 41,000 troops across all branches.

By the end of Biden's term, the active-duty force had shrunk to its smallest size since 1940, with the country staring down China, Russia, and Iran simultaneously.
Then there was Congress.
General Milley went before lawmakers and announced he wanted to "understand white rage."
The Chief of Naval Operations refused to answer whether he agreed with a book calling capitalism racist.
Senate Democrats voted down Marsha Blackburn's amendment to stop the Pentagon from hiding children's gender transitions from their parents.
Trump's Cabinet spent Memorial Day honoring the fallen correctly.
Tulsi Gabbard – a combat veteran who deployed to war zones while most of these Democrats were fundraising – wrote about brothers and sisters who never made it home.
Pete Hegseth called on Americans to "always live worthy of their sacrifice."
Marco Rubio put it simply: "America was built, defended, and preserved by those willing to give everything for it."
What Happened the Moment Trump Won
Recruitment didn't wait for Inauguration Day.
The moment it became clear Trump would return to the White House, enlistment numbers started climbing.
By fiscal year 2025, every branch – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force – met or exceeded its recruiting goals.
The Army had its most productive December in 15 years.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted the headline in December: "Military hits best recruiting numbers in 15 years."
Hegseth abolished DEI offices, fired officers who prioritized ideology over lethality, and launched the "Restoring America's Fighting Force" task force on day one.
The Pentagon's job, under new management, was winning wars again.
Young Americans heard the message.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey spent Memorial Day honoring George Floyd.
Not the fallen.
Not Gold Star families.
That one choice tells you everything about where the Democrat Party's priorities actually are.
The Word Was the Point
Some people clutched their pearls at "Dumocrats."

Those people were not in the Army in 2022, watching the brass spend nearly six million man-hours on climate change and DEI programs while handing out $140,000 signing bonuses that nobody was taking.
They were not the parents of soldiers kicked out under Biden's vaccine mandates while the military sat 41,000 troops short.
Trump didn't call them the opposition party or political rivals.
He called them Dumocrats – and spent four years earning the right to say it.
The men buried at Arlington didn't die for white rage testimony and drag shows on base.
The veterans watching recruitment numbers climb the moment Biden left know it.
And this Memorial Day, the whole country got reminded.
