The Left spent years lecturing America about protecting democracy and national institutions.
Now they're taking blades to Abraham Lincoln's Reflecting Pool.
Trump just announced multiple arrests – and he wants years in prison for every single one.
What Happened at the National Mall
Someone brought a blade to the newly renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and carved a 250-foot gash into the freshly installed blue liner.
That's not an accident.
That's not curiosity.

That's an act of deliberate sabotage against a national monument completed just weeks before America's 250th birthday celebration.
U.S. Park Police arrested five people and issued federal citations to five more.
Law enforcement has filed 14 separate police reports tied to vandalism at the site.
Trump posted on Truth Social Saturday with a message that left nothing to interpretation:
"Who would do such a thing? These are very serious crimes having to do with the destruction of National Monuments. Years in jail!"
This is the same pool where weeks earlier someone spray-painted "8647" – a phrase that federal prosecutors connected directly to threats against the president's life – in 15-by-30-foot letters across the bottom.
The "8647" slogan is the same one former FBI Director James Comey posted on Instagram in 2025, the post that led to his federal indictment for threatening the president.
These are not unrelated incidents.
This Is a Pattern, Not an Accident
Trump's team didn't just repaint a pool.
They renovated 45 monuments and memorials, 28 statues, and 22 fountains across Washington, D.C. – restoring American landmarks that the Biden administration let rot for four years.

The Left's response has been to destroy everything they touch.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum described what the renovation reversed: the pool had been leaking 45,000 gallons of water per day before Trump stepped in.
Trump chose the American flag blue for the bottom.
Within days of the pool being refilled, someone was back with chemicals and a blade.
Under federal law – specifically 18 U.S.C. § 1361 – willful destruction of federal property carries up to 10 years in prison.
The Veterans' Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act of 2003 hits the same ceiling: up to 10 years specifically for vandalizing monuments that honor American service members.
Trump has been clear since 2020 that he intends to use every tool in the law's arsenal against monument vandals.
The Left is learning he meant it.
The Left Has Been Targeting Monuments for Years
This didn't start at the Reflecting Pool.
In the summer of 2020, radical leftists knocked over a statue of Ulysses S. Grant in San Francisco – the general who won the Civil War, defeated the Confederacy, and broke the Ku Klux Klan.
They smeared the names of 507 fallen veterans on a World War II memorial in Charlotte with communist graffiti.
In Madison, Wisconsin, they pulled down the statue of a man who fled Europe to fight for the Union.
Trump issued an executive order in June 2020 to crush this movement, reinstated it in January 2025, and strengthened it in March 2025.
The pattern is always the same.
Democrats and their allies attack symbols of American greatness, dress it up as protest, and count on weak institutions to look the other way.
That era is over.
National Guard members are now stationed around the Reflecting Pool.
The DOJ already prosecuted Comey over "8647."
Now the people who took a blade to the most iconic pool in Washington are facing federal charges – and Trump wants them behind bars.
With America's birthday one week away, the message from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue couldn't be clearer:
You are not burning this country's history down on Trump's watch.
