Don Lemon Just Said Something About Donald Trump That Should Make Him Want to Take It Back

Aug 18, 2026

CNN fired Don Lemon for screaming at female colleagues and telling Nikki Haley she was past her prime.

Then he got arrested for participating in a church invasion while children inside were told their parents were Nazis.

And Don Lemon said two words about running for President in 2028 that left Democrats stunned.

The Man Who Got Fired for Misogyny Wants the Nuclear Codes

Let's review the résumé.

Lemon spent 17 years at CNN accumulating a rap sheet that reads like an HR department's worst nightmare.

He allegedly screamed at co-host Kaitlan Collins on air.

He asked a female colleague if she was suffering from "mommy brain."

He called a female producer fat to her face.

He told Nikki Haley – then a 51-year-old presidential candidate – that women aren't "in their prime" past a certain age.

CNN eventually had enough and fired him in April 2023.

Lemon responded by going on Twitter to complain that nobody warned him – CNN immediately called that claim "inaccurate."

This is the man who says he'd make a "really good" commander in chief.

From the Anchor Desk to the Defendant's Table

Getting fired wasn't enough to slow Lemon down.

This past January, he showed up at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota – livestreaming an anti-ICE protest while worshippers tried to attend Sunday services.

Protesters confronted children inside the building and told them, "Do you know your parents are Nazis, they're going to burn in hell."

The FBI affidavit notes that parishioners were blocked from reaching their kids in the church childcare area.

Lemon didn't just cover it – prosecutors say he "physically obstructed" congregants trying to leave.

Attorney General Pam Bondi personally ordered his arrest, describing the incident as a "coordinated attack on Cities Church."

Lemon pleaded not guilty in February.

His defense? He's a journalist protected by the First Amendment.

Rachel Maddow apparently didn't buy the martyr routine – she never invited him on her show to celebrate.

Here's the Trump Comparison He Probably Regrets

Lemon didn't announce a campaign.

He floated it – the way someone floats a trial balloon to see if anyone cheers.

"People keep asking me if I'm running for president," he said. "I might, because people keep asking me to do it or if I'm going to do it."

Then he tried to swat away his complete lack of political experience by pointing at Donald Trump.

"It seems in this day and age, you don't have to have a ton of political experience because our current president had none," Lemon said.

That's the argument that's going to haunt him.

Trump built a global real estate empire from scratch, hosted one of the most-watched reality shows in television history, and spent decades studying how power actually works before he ever filed paperwork.

Don Lemon got fired from a morning show for yelling at his co-anchors – and then got arrested for helping protesters terrorize a church.

They are not even in the same universe.

The Left Already Gave Him Their Answer

Here's what the media won't say: even liberals don't want Don Lemon.

He got arrested at a protest designed to energize the activist left – and the biggest names on that side ignored him completely.

Maddow passed.

The Democrat Party said nothing.

His fellow travelers in the media treated his federal charges as an embarrassment to be buried, not a badge of honor to be celebrated.

But the people who were supposed to cheer loudest already told him no.

And while Lemon auditions for a job he'll never get, real families in Minnesota are still trying to explain to their kids why strangers walked into their church on a Sunday morning and told them their parents were going to burn in hell.

That's the legacy he built.

That's the man asking for your vote.
