Dana White swore he was done with politics forever.
Now the man who put Trump in the White House is dropping hints that he has a new favorite – and his name is Marco Rubio.
White just told Tomi Lahren something that every 2028 donor in America is going to read twice.
The Man Who Said "Never" Just Said "Never Say Never"
After the 2024 election, White was unambiguous.
"I'm never f—ing doing this again," he told The New Yorker. "I want nothing to do with politics."
On Tomi Lahren's OutKick show this week, White was asked directly whether he's looking at any leaders for 2028.
His answer: "I've become really close to Rubio."
He said it twice – because once wasn't enough to make the point.
"People are asking me if I'm going to get out of politics when the president leaves and I just said, 'I've become very close to Rubio,'" White added. "He and I have become friends."

This is not a casual comment from a casual person.
White has been the most valuable non-politician endorser in Republican politics for a decade – a man who turned UFC from a banned fringe sport into an $11.3 billion global brand by knowing exactly what audiences want before they know it themselves.
When Dana White says someone's name in a political context, people in both parties start making phone calls.
What the UFC-State Department Deal Actually Means
The friendship didn't happen by accident.
Last month, White and Rubio signed a formal memorandum of understanding at the State Department – making UFC only the second major American sports organization, after the NFL, to enter an official sports diplomacy partnership with the U.S. government.
Under the agreement, UFC fighters and coaches will fan out across 75 countries as sports ambassadors, running clinics and mentorship programs for young athletes through the State Department's Sports Envoy Program.
The timing matters.
The deal came during fight week for UFC Freedom 250 – the first MMA event ever held at the White House – putting Rubio front and center at one of the most high-profile sports moments of the Trump second term.

Rubio called UFC "a global phenomenon by embracing values that resonate far beyond the Octagon: excellence, discipline, opportunity, and meritocracy."
Those are not the words of a bureaucrat describing a contract.
Those are the words of a politician building a brand.
How the 2028 Race Just Shifted
White was careful to praise both Rubio and JD Vance – calling each man a "great guy" and acknowledging the succession question is "a tricky situation."
He's right – because the 2028 Republican field is the most competitive open primary the party has faced in decades.
The latest Emerson polling shows Rubio and Vance in a dead heat among Republican primary voters, a dramatic shift from February when Vance led 52% to 20%.
Rubio has surged on the strength of his Iran diplomacy and his Venezuela operation – and, apparently, his ability to charm the most influential sports executive in America.
Vance retains the structural advantage of the vice presidency, and history is full of vice presidents who never converted that advantage into a nomination.
The man who delivered the most electric endorsement speech of the 2024 Republican National Convention just signaled he's paying close attention to the other guy.
This Is How It Starts
The left-wing media spent months mocking White after 2024 – running clips of his "never again" quote and declaring him finished as a political force.
They should have learned by now.

In 2016, White spoke at the Republican National Convention when nobody took Trump seriously.
In 2020, he donated $1 million to support Trump's reelection when the political establishment had written him off.
In 2024, he introduced Trump at the convention and stood on stage on election night in West Palm Beach when it was over.
Every single time, the left said he was irrelevant.
Every single time, they were wrong.
White didn't endorse Rubio on Tomi Lahren's show – he made sure the world knows he's watching, that he likes what he sees, and that he's not going anywhere.
In Trump-era Republican politics, that's not a hint.
That's a starting gun.
