Jessica Simpson's marriage to Eric Johnson just fell apart, and her career's been struggling for years.
But the pop star's got bigger problems – she's been banned from a NASCAR legend's bus since 2008.
And Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s wife Amy just explained exactly why Simpson's not welcome anywhere near her family – and hasn't been for nearly two decades.
What Happened at Daytona Between Jessica Simpson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Amy Earnhardt was actually excited when she heard Simpson was at the Daytona racetrack back in 2008.
Both women were the same age, both from Texas, and Amy considered herself a fan of the "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer.
She asked Dale Jr. if he could arrange for Simpson to come by the bus so they could meet.
That's when Dale showed her an interview Simpson had done that same day – she revealed a dream where she and Dale Jr. got married in a treehouse.
Amy's response was immediate: "Yeah, don't bring that b—- over here."
Seventeen years later, she hasn't changed her mind.
Jessica Simpson's Dream About Dale Earnhardt Jr. – What It Really Meant
Celebrity dream experts would call Simpson's treehouse wedding fantasy a classic case of projection – using a famous person to represent qualities you want for yourself.
Amy saw it differently.
She saw a pop star publicly announcing romantic fantasies about her boyfriend on national television.
The timing couldn't have been worse – Amy and Dale had just started dating, still in that early stage where everything feels uncertain.
And here was a chart-topping singer telling reporters she dreamed of marrying Amy's new boyfriend.
Amy Earnhardt's 17-Year Boycott of Jessica Simpson Products
Amy Earnhardt turned that moment into a personal boycott that's lasted 17 years.
"I haven't bought a Jessica Simpson shoe or a bag – you know, how she's got all the things – ever since then," Amy revealed on the "Bless Your 'Hardt" podcast she co-hosts with Dale Jr.
Simpson built a billion-dollar fashion empire selling shoes, bags, and accessories to millions of women across America.
Amy bought exactly zero of those products.
"She was f—ing trying to fish my man," Amy said on the podcast.
"Yes, she was. She knew exactly what she was doing."
Dale Jr. laughed and suggested Simpson probably doesn't even remember the interview, but Amy's not interested in forgiveness.
She joked that Simpson must have heard Dale wanted to build a treehouse and saw her opportunity – "I had a dream! We're meant to be together."
Jessica Simpson's Divorce from Eric Johnson vs. Amy Earnhardt's Marriage
Simpson's treehouse wedding fantasy never came true.
She met NFL player Eric Johnson in May 2010 and married him in 2014 after having two kids together.
They had a third child in 2019.
By November 2024, Johnson was spotted without his wedding ring while Simpson split time between Los Angeles and Nashville trying to revive her music career.
Sources told People magazine the couple was living separate lives.
Meanwhile, Dale Jr. and Amy got married on New Year's Eve 2016 and now have two daughters – Isla, 7, and Nicole, 5.
Amy got exactly what she wanted that day at Daytona when she told Dale to keep Simpson away from the bus.
She protected her relationship, married her man, and built a family with him.
And she's never let Simpson forget what happened – even if the singer has no idea she's been banned from a NASCAR bus for nearly two decades.
