Cuban Influencers Stunned Leftists With Three Words After Maduro’s Capture

Jan 10, 2026

American leftists showed their true colors this weekend.

They flooded into the streets defending a brutal dictator.

And Cuban influencers stunned leftists with three words after Maduro's capture.

Cuban Couple Celebrates While American Leftists Rage

Yoel and Mari Díaz woke up before dawn Saturday morning when news broke that U.S. forces captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro in a military operation.

The Cuban couple couldn't believe what they were hearing.

Yoel's wife Marissa — who goes by Mari — recorded his reaction as the news sank in.

Over 10 million people watched the video on Instagram showing his joy and disbelief.

"Liberty! Thank you, USA!" Yoel shouted through tears of joy.

These two know what living under communism actually means.

They fled Cuba for Arizona and built a massive social media following by showing Americans the stark contrast between socialist regimes and freedom in the United States.

Their Instagram account @mimaincuba has 232,000 followers while their TikTok @yoelandmari boasts nearly 500,000.

They don't just talk about the horrors of communism — they lived through them.

Leftists Took to Streets Defending Maduro

While the Díaz family celebrated with millions of other Venezuelans around the world, American leftists did something disgusting.

Hundreds gathered in New York City's Times Square holding signs reading "US Out" and "No Blood for Oil."

Similar protests erupted in San Francisco, Houston, and other major cities across America.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation organized these demonstrations within hours of Maduro's capture.

These professional agitators have been fomenting anti-American hatred for years under the cover of "anti-war" protests.

They marched with Antifa, organized antisemitic campus encampments, and now they're defending a narco-terrorist dictator.

Mari Díaz had a message for these communist sympathizers that cut right to the heart of their ignorance.

"They are communists because they have read about communism," Mari explained. "We are anti-communist because we have lived in communism."

Those three simple words — "lived in communism" — expose everything wrong with American leftists defending Maduro.

Cuba Is 'The Hunger Games'

Yoel described life in Cuba with brutal honesty.

"Literally Cuba is 'The Hunger Games,'" he said.

What does that mean in reality?

Yoel's refrigerator in Cuba told the whole story: "Water, water, water, five, ten eggs, water."

Communist Cuba pays teachers $12 a month — Yoel taught computer science and could barely afford to eat.

The couple shows Americans what abundance actually looks like when you've lived through scarcity.

Yoel walked into an American grocery store for the first time and broke down seeing shelves full of food.

Multiple types of butter overwhelmed him — the simple act of choosing between salted or unsalted seemed impossible after years of having nothing.

His first UPS paycheck in Phoenix brought tears too.

"This is my first hourly paycheck that I feel every hour counted," Yoel said. "I can't compare that emotion with anything, because I never had that in my country."

Americans protesting Maduro's capture don't understand any of this.

They've read about socialism in air-conditioned classrooms while drinking Starbucks.

Democrats Clueless About Socialist Reality

Mari said the protesters completely miss what's actually happening in Venezuela.

"They don't know that Maduro was and is an illegitimate president," she explained. "They don't understand that Venezuela conducts elections every year and Nicolás Maduro forced himself to be president yet again."

The Díaz couple has watched millions of Venezuelans flee their country over the years.

Makeshift boats come from Cuba to Miami constantly.

Millions of Venezuelans crossed the border into the United States during Biden's open borders disaster.

"That will tell you everything you need to know about socialism," Mari stated.

Yoel connected Maduro directly to Cuba's communist regime.

"Nicolás Maduro is a product of imperialism, Cuban imperialism," Mari said.

The same hard-left authoritarianism that destroyed Cuba under Fidel Castro spread to Venezuela under Hugo Chávez and then Maduro.

"It is the same like Castro," Yoel explained. "Chávez and Maduro are the same."

Now Maduro faces narco-terrorism charges in a Manhattan federal court.

American Socialists Defend Their Heroes

The protests defending Maduro exposed something Democrats don't want Americans to see.

These aren't anti-war demonstrations — they're pro-socialist rallies.

Speakers at the San Francisco protest praised Maduro's record despite him jailing political opponents, falsifying elections, and overseeing Venezuela's economic collapse into poverty.

"I had the privilege of having met Nicolás Maduro when he was a union activist many years ago," activist Gloria La Riva told the crowd. "And he's like us."

That's exactly right — these American leftists see themselves in Maduro.

They want the same authoritarian control over the economy and political system he wielded in Venezuela.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation mobilized thousands to defend a dictator within hours through a coordinated propaganda operation.

They used the same playbook they've deployed for years — appropriating legitimate causes to advance their Marxist agenda.

After 9/11 they condemned America's response.

During 2020 they hijacked protests after George Floyd's death.

They organized antisemitic campus encampments.

Now they're defending a narco-terrorist because he shares their communist ideology.

Trump Acts While Democrats Defend Tyranny

President Trump delivered on his promise to confront the drug cartels and narco-terrorism threatening American security.

The military operation that captured Maduro shows what decisive leadership looks like.

Venezuelan migrants in Doral, Florida — home to the largest Venezuelan population in America — flooded the streets celebrating.

Cities across Latin America and Spain erupted in joy.

But American leftists protested because they're more loyal to socialist ideology than American values.

Yoel and Mari Díaz expressed hope that Cuba might be next.

"I'm very excited for the future of possibility of a liberation of Cuba," Mari said.

Millions of Cubans deserve the same freedom Venezuelans now have a chance to experience.

The Díaz couple's message resonates because they know what they're talking about — they lived through the nightmare American socialists are trying to import.

Those three words Mari used cut through every lie leftists tell about socialism.

"Lived in communism."

American protesters defending Maduro should be forced to spend one month living under the system they're championing.

They'd be begging to come back to capitalism within a week.
