The federal government prosecuted Mark Houck for praying outside a Philadelphia abortion clinic – and sent 25 armed FBI agents to arrest him in front of his seven children.
Now Trump created a fund to compensate every American like him.

The Fund Democrats Are Terrified Of
An IRS contractor named Charles Littlejohn stole Donald Trump's confidential tax returns and leaked them to The New York Times and ProPublica.
He went to prison for it.
Trump sued the federal government for $10 billion over that breach – and the DOJ settled, creating what Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche called the Anti-Weaponization Fund.
The fund exists to compensate Americans whose lives were wrecked by politically motivated prosecutions during the Biden years.

January 6 defendants who lost their jobs, their savings, and their families while Biden's DOJ threw the book at them.
Parents who showed up at school board meetings and got flagged as domestic terror threats.
Trump put it plainly: "They've been weaponized. They've been, in some cases, imprisoned wrongly. They paid legal fees that they didn't have. They've gone bankrupt. Their lives have been destroyed."
Obama Did the Exact Same Thing
Schumer is calling this a "MAGA slush fund" with zero oversight and zero precedent.
He's wrong on both counts.
The DOJ pointed directly to Keepseagle v. Vilsack – the Obama administration's $760 million fund created to compensate Native American farmers and ranchers who alleged discrimination by the Agriculture Department.
Same legal mechanism. Same Judgment Fund.

No congressional appropriation required.
The media called Obama's version justice.
They're calling Trump's version corruption.
The DOJ's own statement made the double standard explicit: "The only thing illegal and corrupt about this situation is the brazen weaponization of federal resources by previous administrations to retaliate against those with opposing political beliefs."
What Schumer Is Actually Blocking
Schumer announced a coordinated Democratic campaign using reconciliation amendments, appropriations fights, oversight hearings, and floor votes to kill the fund entirely.
He recruited Senators Adam Schiff, Mark Kelly, and Elissa Slotkin to introduce the "Drain the Slush Fund Act."
A federal judge in Virginia has already issued a temporary block on implementation while legal challenges proceed.
Here's what this fight is actually about.
Senate Republicans are trying to pass a $72 billion reconciliation package funding ICE, CBP, and DHS through 2029 – the bill that pays for border enforcement and keeps the deportation flights running.
Schumer planted a bomb in the middle of that process.
He's calculated that a handful of Senate Republicans – the ones squeamish about compensating January 6 defendants – can be peeled off to create enough chaos to derail the entire immigration enforcement package.

This isn't about the fund. It's about killing Trump's border security legislation before it passes.
Democrats Protecting the Weaponizers
The people who would qualify for this fund were targeted by federal prosecutors who still work at the DOJ.
Their cases were built by FBI agents who still have their badges.
Every approved claim is a documented admission that the federal government was used as a political weapon against American citizens.
That's the real reason Schumer wrote "there will be no escape hatch" – not because he cares about taxpayer dollars, but because compensation for these victims puts names and dollar amounts on exactly what the Biden administration did.
The Obama administration paid $760 million to farming communities and Democrats called it compassion.
Trump proposes to pay the people his political enemies prosecuted and destroyed – and suddenly the minority leader is treating it like the crime of the century.
Chuck Schumer spent four years watching the Biden DOJ go to war against half of America.
He didn't write a single Dear Colleague letter then.
