Charlie Kirk Predicted This Six Years Ago and New York Just Proved Him Right

Jun 29, 2026

AOC took her seat in 2018 and the left swore she was a fluke.

Now three democratic socialists just swept New York's congressional primaries – and two of them knocked out sitting congressmen.

Charlie Kirk saw every bit of this coming, but he just didn't live to see it land.

AOC Was the Template Not the Exception

Kirk was assassinated on a college campus in September 2025 – shot in the neck by a politically motivated gunman while speaking at Utah Valley University in front of 3,000 people.

The ideas that just won New York are the same ones he spent his career fighting.

On Tuesday, all three candidates backed by New York's openly socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani won their Democrat congressional primaries.

Brad Lander defeated incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman – capturing roughly two-thirds of the vote.

Darializa Avila Chevalier knocked out 10-year Rep. Adriano Espaillat, the chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

Claire Valdez won the open seat left by retiring Rep. Nydia Velázquez.

All three will almost certainly win their deep-blue districts in November.

Kirk had predicted exactly this.

In 2020, he told reporter Randy DeSoto: "I've told people she's going to multiply in Congress. There are hyper-entitled, clueless millennials that are ready to undo every piece of true progress that our country has made over the last 200 years…"

Six years later, she multiplied. Three at a time.

What These Candidates Actually Believe

Don't let the word "progressive" soften what's coming to Washington.

Chevalier wants to abolish prisons, legalize prostitution and drug use, abolish ICE, and cut off all U.S. military support to Israel.

She also called America "a f***ing disgrace."

At the state level, a socialist named Aber Kawas – who blamed the September 11 attacks on "capitalism and racism, and white supremacy" – won her New York state senate primary the same night.

Mamdani himself has pushed Americans to "replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism."

This is not fringe language carefully hidden from voters.

These candidates ran on it openly, and they won.

The Schools Did This

Kirk wasn't just predicting electoral outcomes.

He was diagnosing a cause.

In 2020, a YouGov/Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation poll found that 70 percent of millennials said they were either "extremely likely" or "somewhat likely" to vote for a socialist candidate.

The same poll found only 57 percent of millennials believed the Declaration of Independence better guarantees freedom and equality than the Communist Manifesto.

Among the Silent Generation – Americans who actually lived through the Cold War – that number was 94 percent.

Think about that.

Nearly half of young Americans chose the Communist Manifesto over the document that founded this country.

Kirk put the blame squarely on schools: "We don't teach history. This is all because of our schools. Schools are the number one reason why this is all screwed up." And on the generation that built them: "They sent my generation to leftist indoctrination factories that teach kids to hate our country, and they are wondering why this is going in the wrong direction."

He was right.

When AOC won in 2018, the DSA had 40 elected members nationwide.

By 2025 – the year Kirk was killed – over 250 DSA members held office across 40 states, with 90 percent of them elected after 2019.

Every single one of them came out of the same campus pipeline Kirk spent his life fighting.

The House Speaker Already Sees It

House Speaker Mike Johnson recognized what Tuesday night means.

"These kind of people have been popping up," Johnson said. "You've been hearing me say for weeks there are many Mamdanis popping up all around the country. It is a dangerous thing."

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, running against Kathy Hochul in November, thinks moderate Democrats will cross over after watching socialists take their party.

He might be right about some of them.

But here's what Kirk understood that most people still won't admit: this wasn't a hostile takeover of the Democrat Party.

This is the Democrat Party showing what it actually is when young voters show up in primaries.

AOC didn't hijack anything in 2018.

She opened a door that was already unlocked – because the campuses had been building toward this for decades.

Now the socialists are walking through three at a time, backed by a sitting mayor who openly preaches collectivism.

Kirk spent the last years of his life on those same campuses trying to stop it.

He was killed on one.

The warning he left behind just came true.

The question now is whether anyone is going to fight this as hard as he did.
