Democrats turned Alex Pretti into a martyr the moment Border Patrol agents killed him in Minneapolis.
CNN's Ana Navarro called him "the perfect guy" – the man you'd want dating your daughter.
Then Wednesday's video drop changed everything, and Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett explained exactly why it matters.
Democrats Built Their Alex Pretti Narrative On A Lie
For five days, the left treated Pretti's death as cold-blooded murder by Trump's federal agents.
Governor Tim Walz claimed DHS was lying about the shooting, mocking their account as "nonsense."
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara spent the week attacking Border Patrol, noting that his department "didn't shoot anyone" all last year while making hundreds of arrests.
The story Democrats sold America: an innocent ICU nurse filming federal overreach gets executed in the street by trigger-happy agents.
Wednesday's video from January 13 destroys that entire narrative.
January 13 Video Shows Federal Agents Confrontation Pattern
Eleven days before Border Patrol shot him, Alex Pretti was already targeting federal agents conducting immigration enforcement in Minneapolis.
The News Movement published the video Wednesday, and Pretti's family confirmed his identity to The Minnesota Star Tribune.
Watch what happens: Pretti approaches federal officers, screaming profanities and flashing double middle fingers.
He kicks the taillight of their government SUV, shattering it completely.
When agents exit the vehicle to arrest him for destroying federal property, Pretti resists as multiple officers take him to the ground.
"An angry person who is expressing his rage with assault," Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said Wednesday night on Hannity, breaking down the January 13 encounter.
Jarrett noted that spitting at an officer constitutes assault – and the video shows Pretti doing exactly that before agents wrestled him down.
ICE Minneapolis Operation Metro Surge Escalation
This wasn't a one-time incident where emotions ran high.
Pretti had established a pattern of violent confrontation with the same federal agents conducting Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis.
January 13: Attacks federal vehicle, spits at officers, resists arrest.
January 24: Inserts himself between Border Patrol agents and a woman they're moving out of a roadway during an active enforcement operation.
The second encounter followed the same script – Pretti refusing lawful orders, agents attempting to control the situation, physical confrontation escalating.
Border Patrol pepper-sprayed him when he wouldn't comply.
Six agents surrounded him on the ground when shots were fired.
One agent had just removed a 9mm semiautomatic handgun from Pretti's waistband during the struggle.
"He gets involved, resists arrest. He's committing crimes all over the place," Jarrett explained, connecting the January 13 video to the fatal shooting eleven days later.
Why Gregory Bovino And DHS Investigation Changes Now
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called Pretti's actions "domestic terrorism" immediately after the shooting – Democrats and even some Republicans attacked her for it.
The January 13 video makes her characterization look a lot less extreme.
An individual with documented hostility toward federal agents, carrying a concealed weapon, repeatedly inserting himself into law enforcement operations despite prior arrests.
"It may be a case of mistaken perceptions when the shooting occurred, which invokes the imperfect self-defense," Jarrett noted, explaining why agents who knew Pretti's history might have feared for their lives.
Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino said the agent who fired was "highly trained" with eight years of experience.
That agent had just watched a colleague pull a gun from the waistband of someone who'd violently attacked federal officers eleven days earlier.
Two Border Patrol agents who discharged their weapons are now on administrative leave while multiple investigations proceed.
Here's what those investigations will confirm: Pretti wasn't some peaceful observer documenting government overreach.
He was an armed individual with a documented pattern of assaulting federal agents who chose to physically intervene in their operations.
Tim Walz And Minneapolis Officials Owe America An Apology
CNN's Ana Navarro gushed about Pretti being "the perfect guy" – someone serving humanity by caring for sick veterans.
She had no idea viewers would see him screaming obscenities, destroying federal property, and spitting at law enforcement days before his death.
Minnesota officials rushed to condemn Border Patrol without mentioning Pretti's January 13 assault on agents.
Democrats across the country used his death to attack Trump's immigration enforcement operations.
The January 13 video reveals what they all knew but didn't tell you.
Pretti's family attorney claims federal agents "violently assaulted" his client during the January 13 encounter – but the video shows agents responding to Pretti's destruction of their vehicle.
"That video tells a lot about Alex Pretti," Jarrett said, and he's right.
It tells you Democrats will lie about anything to protect sanctuary cities and obstruct deportations.
