Bill O’Reilly delivered a startling reality check about what Trump’s second term will look like

Nov 22, 2024

Bill O’Reilly’s known Trump for more than three decades.

There may be no one in the media who has a better idea of how Trump will approach another four years in the White House.

And Bill O’Reilly delivered a startling reality check about what Trump’s second term will look like.

Bill O’Reilly says Trump cabinet picks aren’t there to make policy

Donald Trump told podcast host Joe Rogan the biggest mistake he made in his first term were hiring mistakes.

“The biggest mistake I made was I picked some people. I picked some great people, you know, but you don’t think about that. I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked,” Trump stated. “I picked a few people that I shouldn’t have picked.”

Trump admitted that when he won in 2016 he didn’t know anyone involved in politics and made his cabinet and other personnel selections based on the recommendations of others.

But that meant Trump took the advice of establishment-aligned figures who tried to shape Trump’s administration by installing their own allies in key positions.

Trump said this was especially true in foreign policy.

“Neocons?” Rogan wondered.

“Yeah, neocons or bad people or disloyal people,” Trump replied.

Trump repeatedly tried to end America’s involvement in Barack Obama’s war in Syria.

When Trump announced a troop withdrawal, Secretary of Defense James Mattis resigned in protest.

Diplomat Jim Jeffrey served as Trump’s special envoy to Syria.

In November 2020, Jeffrey told reporters that Deep State bureaucrats such as himself would lie to Donald Trump to make it seem like Trump’s order to bring American troops home got carried out when in reality the military defied Trump’s directive.

“We were always playing shell games to not make clear to our leadership how many troops we had there,” Jeffrey declared.

How a second Trump administration will be different

Donald Trump said now that he’s run three Presidential campaigns he feels much more comfortable making his own personnel choices as he knows all the key players.

That’s how Trump announced rapid-fire cabinet selections after crushing Kamala Harris on November 5.

Members of the media as well as establishment RINOs questioned why Trump picked Tulsi Gabbard to serve as Director of National Intelligence or Pete Hegseth to run the Defense Department.

Bill O’Reilly told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that these nominations mean Trump isn’t messing around and won’t tolerate any “maybes” when it comes to if he can trust this person to implement his agenda.

“The people that do department heads are going to say ‘yes, sir’ or they’re not going to be OK,” O’Reilly said in an appearance on Cuomo’s show.

Trump wants to fire woke generals from the Pentagon and rid the intelligence agencies of the Deep State conspirators who ran the Russia collusion and Ukraine impeachment hoaxes in his first term.

In Hegseth and Gabbard, Trump has two reliable allies to carry out those goals.
