Cornell University just crossed $100,000 a year in tuition.
AOC showed up to a left-wing town hall with the answer.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed racism for ending free college – and your 65-year-old dad needs to hear exactly what she said.
She Said the Quiet Part Out Loud
Speaking Sunday at a "Students vs. Billionaires Town Hall" hosted by the far-left More Perfect Union, AOC was asked what Democrats are doing about skyrocketing tuition costs.
She called for tuition-free public colleges and universities nationwide.
Then she told the crowd it wasn't a radical idea – because baby boomers already had it.
"Public colleges in America were tuition free, they were tuition free in the sixties and in the seventies," she said.
Fine – that's broadly true, and worth a real conversation.

But AOC didn't stop there.
She told the room exactly why she thinks free public college ended.
"You know when they started to get defunded? They got defunded when they started to get integrated, racially integrated," she said.
There it is.
Not the 1970s economic recession that crushed state budgets across the country.
Not the federal student loan explosion that handed universities a blank check for fifty years.
Not the administrative bloat that turned elite universities into luxury operations eating taxpayer dollars.
She stood in front of a room full of young people and told them that America ended free college to keep Black students out.
That's the argument she's making.
And the crowd cheered.
The Trillion-Dollar Plan She Didn't Price Out
AOC forgot to mention the cost – so here it is.
A nationwide first-dollar free college program runs $72 billion in its first year and nearly $1 trillion over the next decade.
And that's just tuition.
Room, board, books, transportation – still your problem.
AOC has previously defended giving free college to wealthy families too – "all children in the United States, even for wealthy families," she said in 2019.
Your tax dollars paying for trust fund kids at state schools.
Her history lesson also left something out: public colleges in the 1960s were stripped-down institutions – no DEI bureaucracies, no six-figure diversity administrators, no luxury dormitories marketed like resort properties.
The model she's romanticizing doesn't exist anymore.
What does exist is a system where federal student loan dollars flooded universities with guaranteed money and administrators spent every penny – then raised prices to capture more.
AOC's solution to the federal-money-fueled tuition explosion is to pour in another trillion dollars of federal money.
This is not a college affordability plan.
It's a government takeover of American higher education sold as nostalgia and wrapped in a racism accusation aimed at the people being asked to pay for it.
Trump Is Already Fixing the Real Problem
While AOC was telling students that their grandparents ended free college out of racism, the Trump administration has been cutting federal funding to universities that use taxpayer money to run political indoctrination operations.
That's the actual answer.

Universities exploded in cost because Washington gave them a money printer in the form of guaranteed student loans – and they used it without restraint for decades.
Handing them another trillion dollars won't fix that.
It rewards the behavior that created the crisis – and locks in federal control of every public university in America permanently.
AOC just told a room full of students that the baby boomers who built this country destroyed higher education out of racial spite.
Then asked those same boomers' children and grandchildren to write the check.
This is the Democrat Party in 2026.
