Andy Reid watched Travis Kelce walk into training camp weeks after the biggest wedding of the decade looking half his age.
But he knows exactly why.
And Travis Kelce did something Sunday night that nobody believed a 36-year-old tight end could still do – and Reid is pointing straight at the woman in the suite.
What the Experts Got Wrong
NFL Network spent the offseason speculating about his retirement.
Analysts had his receiving yards ceiling set at 675.
The consensus was unanimous: Kelce was done as an elite player, the celebrity lifestyle had gotten to him, and Kansas City was just letting a legend limp toward the exit.
They had reasons that sounded reasonable at the time.
Kelce hadn't topped 1,000 receiving yards since 2022.

He'd contemplated retirement two offseasons in a row.
He married the most famous woman on the planet in July at Madison Square Garden, then reportedly honeymooned while his team was still building its roster.
Patrick Mahomes was coming back from ACL and LCL surgery.
The Chiefs had gone 6-11 the year before – their first missed playoff since 2014.
What Actually Happened Sunday Night
Kelce caught 12 passes for 172 yards through two games this season – and on Sunday Night Football against the Colts, he delivered his first 100-yard performance since the 2024 AFC Divisional round.
He scored his first touchdown of 2026 while Taylor Swift celebrated in her suite, pointing to her ring finger and shouting "That's my husband."
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to local station KSHB 41 on Monday and wasn't subtle about who helped prove the critics wrong.

"Everybody questioned with the wedding and all of that – 'would he be out of shape and honeymooning the whole time?' – but he really works his rear end off," Reid said. "And I think Taylor, you're putting on four-hour shows, you've got to work hard too. So I'm sure she kicks him in the butt a little there too."
The Part Nobody Wants to Say Out Loud
The experts built their retirement narrative around a reasonable-sounding assumption: that the wedding, the celebrity, the media empire, the easy exit – that all of it would be enough to pull Kelce away from the grinding work that made him the greatest tight end in NFL history.
Kelce himself told Pat McAfee in March exactly what was actually fueling him.
"I've still got a lot of love for this game," he said. "I want to go out there and prove to myself that I can play at a better level than I did last year."
That's not a man being softened by fame.
That's a competitor who watched a season fall apart, chose to come back when he could have retired into a very comfortable life, and showed up to camp looking – in Reid's words – half his age.
They forgot that some people are built differently.

Reid hasn't.
Why This Matters Beyond This Sunday
Kelce is 36 years old, playing what is likely his final season, on a team clawing back from a 6-11 disaster, behind a quarterback still finding his footing after reconstructive knee surgery.
The Chiefs head to Miami next Sunday to take on the Dolphins.
The experts will still be there – recalibrating, explaining why two weeks don't mean anything, finding new reasons to doubt.
Andy Reid has coached great players for nearly three decades on an NFL sideline.
He knows why this one showed up.
