Al Sharpton Called a UFC Fight on the White House Lawn Entertainment for Slave Masters

Jun 3, 2026

Al Sharpton went on MSNBC Thursday and compared a UFC championship fight at the White House to watching enslaved people beat each other for their owners' amusement.

Now Trump is hosting 90,000 Americans on the White House lawn for UFC Freedom 250 – and the left is losing its mind.

Sharpton just told the country that a professional championship fight is something only a slave master would enjoy – and he meant every word of it.

What Sharpton Actually Said

He didn't slip up.

He didn't misspeak.

On Morning Joe, Sharpton connected the June 14 UFC event directly to plantation slavery, saying Trump and others are "trying to go back to that when, you know, they'd watch people have these fights, for the slave masters."

He also couldn't remember the name of the organization he was attacking – calling it "UFO, whatever they call UFC" – before explaining to his remaining viewers that the fight proves Trump wants to drag America back to the era of Andrew Jackson.

That's the argument: UFC = slavery = Trump.

On MSNBC.

In 2026.

The Man Lecturing America About Racial Dignity

Before Sharpton gets to lecture anyone about dignity or history, let's review his own.

In 1987, Sharpton championed Tawana Brawley's claim that white men and police officers had abducted and raped her.

A grand jury found the story was a complete fabrication.

Sharpton was sued for defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 in damages.

He has never apologized.

In 1991, after a tragic accident in Crown Heights killed a young Black child, Sharpton's rhetoric helped turn the neighborhood into a riot zone.

Yankel Rosenbaum – a Jewish student visiting from Australia – was surrounded by a mob and stabbed to death.

Protesters marched through the Jewish section of Crown Heights carrying banners that read "Hitler did not do the job."

That is the man MSNBC hired in 2011 to host a nightly show – and has kept on the air ever since – to tell you what racism looks like.

What 90,000 Free Americans Are Actually Showing Up For

The UFC is footing the entire $60 million bill.

South Lawn seats went to active military members.

Eighty-five thousand more tickets went out free to the public.

Two championship bouts on the White House grounds, on Flag Day, on the nation's 250th birthday.

That is what Al Sharpton called entertainment for slave masters.

This Is What the End of an Era Looks Like

Sharpton has been running this play for 40 years.

Turn every American celebration into a referendum on race.

Assign the worst possible historical analog.

Wait for the applause.

It worked when the media controlled every microphone in the country.

It doesn't work anymore – not when a 71-year-old man on a network nobody watches can't even remember the name of the sport he's comparing to chattel slavery.

Trump didn't just win the election.

He won the culture.

And 90,000 Americans headed to the White House lawn on June 14 are going to prove it in front of the whole world.
