But Gowdy ended up on the wrong side of Donald Trump.

Gowdy gets called out for supporting the Deep State
The Fox News Special Report panel exploded over Trey Gowdy’s opposition to Donald Trump naming Matt Gaetz as his Attorney General.
Gowdy called Gaetz “corrupt” over phony allegations the Biden-Harris Justice Department used to try and drive Gaetz out of Congress after Gaetz began asking questions about how many federal agents were on the ground on January 6.
Gowdy’s co-panelist Mollie Hemingway eviscerated Gowdy’s argument, saying Democrats weaponized the Department of Justice and only an outsider not hostage to the Swamp like Gaetz could fumigate the agency.
Hemingway argued the Gaetz appointment was just Trump following through on his campaign promises.
“Well, Donald Trump campaigned with a pledge that he would root out corruption at the Department of Justice and throughout the intelligence agencies, that he would secure our borders, return us to being a nation with borders, and to fix the failed foreign policy of the Biden administration. His picks are showing that he is very serious about that,” Hemingway stated.
Hemingway stressed that Trump picking the likes of Gaetz for Attorney General, Tulsi Gabbard to serve as Director of National Intelligence, and Robert Kennedy to run Health and Human Services showed Trump intended to be a transformation President who set America on a new course of freedom by unshackling government from the swamp’s control.
“We’ll see how much he’s able to accomplish with a frequently hostile, entrenched, sclerotic, permanent Washington, D.C. But he has big goals and big vision and a feeling that there’s something that’s just been wrong with our country for a while, and we need to return to that glory of self-governance where we don’t have really corrupt agencies hurting the country, putting – stopping people from being able to produce. And that is what you’re seeing in these picks,” Hemingway concluded.

Trey Gowdy’s past history defending the weaponized Justice Department
This isn’t the first time Gowdy fell for an FBI information operation.
In 2018, Gowdy praised the FBI for opening the Russia collusion hoax, saying James Comey and other bureau leaders did exactly the right thing in opening the investigation.
“I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” Gowdy said during a 2018 interview on Fox News.
Gowdy then proved to be so gullible that he actually believed the lie that the FBI wasn’t targeting Donald Trump when the only reason to open this collusion prosecution was to bring down his Presidency.
“President Trump himself in the Comey memos said if anyone connected with my campaign was working with Russia, I want you to investigate it, and it sounds to me like that is exactly what the FBI did. I think when the President finds out what happened, he is going to be not just fine, he is going to be glad that we have an FBI that took seriously what they heard,” Gowdy concluded.
