A federal prosecutor gave Alvin Bragg some bad news that confirmed his worst fear

Alvin Bragg is on a mission to throw Donald Trump in jail before the election.

He thought he was on the verge of victory.

But a federal prosecutor gave Alvin Bragg some bad news that confirmed his worst fear.

Donald Trump still faces sentencing for Manhattan show trial

Former President Donald Trump was convicted of 34 made-up crimes by Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in May.

Democrat Judge Juan Merchan – who donated to President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign – scheduled sentencing in the case for July – days before the Republican National Convention was supposed to start.

The Supreme Court’s decision in Trump’s Presidential immunity claim caused the judge to push sentencing back to September 18.

That sentencing hearing is almost certainly the last legal hurdle that Trump will face before the election.

Merchan is a shameless Democrat hack who worked with Bragg to help ensure conviction.

Trump couldn’t count out the possibility of the Democrat judge trying to throw him behind bars and fulfilling Bragg’s mission.

Federal prosecutor says Supreme Court threw a monkey wrench in sentencing

Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy predicted that Trump’s sentencing would be pushed back during an appearance on Fox News.

He said that the issues created by the Presidential immunity ruling would have to be resolved before sentencing.

Fox News host Neil Cavuto asked how immunity affected the Manhattan case.

“What about the New York finance case?” Cavuto asked. “The sentencing, you know, slated for next month. And I know the Trump team was trying to say that Supreme Court decision even affects that. That seems like a bit of a stretch, but I’m not the lawyer — you are. What do you think?”

“Well, it’s not a stretch, it’s a real thing. And that’s because I think the Manhattan District Attorney’s office was pretty reckless in the way that they presented the trial,” McCarthy replied.

Bragg’s office called two members of Trump’s White House staff to testify in the case and used posts that Trump made on social media in 2018 as evidence.

The testimony of those staffers would have to be thrown out because they almost certainly would be excluded by Trump’s Presidential immunity.

“But even Bragg has told Judge Merchan that he doesn’t object to a postponement of the sentencing,” McCarthy explained. “And it looks to me to be pretty obvious that the sentencing has to be postponed.”

“I don’t see how it can go forward on September 18, because whatever Merchan decides on Trump’s new immunity issue based on the Supreme Court’s opinion, he [Trump] gets to appeal that,” McCarthy added.

Trump’s legal team is asking a federal court to take up the case and delaying sentencing because of the Presidential immunity ruling.

“The ongoing proceedings will continue to cause direct and irreparable harm to President Trump — the leading candidate in the 2024 Presidential election — and voters located far beyond Manhattan,” Trump’s legal team wrote in a filing.

Donald Trump just needs to get through the Manhattan sentencing with three other criminal cases against him in shambles.
