New York City Mayor is ready to work with Donald Trump on illegal immigration
New York City has been overwhelmed by illegal immigration after the Biden-Harris border crisis began in 2021.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott began busing illegal aliens to the sanctuary city, adding to the woes of the Big Apple.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams estimated that his city could spend $12 billion on illegal aliens by 2025 if nothing is done.
Adams is ready to work with the incoming Trump administration to deal with the illegal immigration in his city.
He announced that he’s going to meet with Trump’s new “Border Czar” Tom Homan about deporting illegal aliens in New York who have a criminal record.
“Those who are here committing crimes, robberies, shooting at police officers, raping innocent people, have been a harm to our country, I want to sit down and hear the plan on how we’re going to address them,” Adams said. “Those are the people I am talking about and I would love to sit down with the ‘Border Czar’ and hear his thoughts on how we’re going to address those who harm our citizens.”
Adams pointed out that deporting illegal aliens who commit crimes used to be the default position for Democrats before the party went off the rails.
“You know what’s interesting, and I was talking to the team the other day, I want you to go back and Google Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,” Adams declared. “Google what they said about those who commit crime in our city and what they said in our country. They said ‘those who commit crimes need to get out right away.’ That was their position, so this is not a new position.”
New York Mayor dares Democrats to cancel him
Adams has needled the far-left in the past like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
He challenged Democrats who might be upset with him over working with Trump’s “Border Czar” to cancel him.
“Because in the era of cancel culture, no one’s afraid to be honest about the truth,” Adams said. “Well, cancel me, because I’m going to protect the people of this city. And if you come into this country and this city and think you’re going to harm innocent New Yorkers and innocent migrants and asylum seekers, this is not the mayor you want to be in the city under.”
Homan is the point man for Trump’s planned mass deportations of illegal aliens.
He revealed that illegal aliens who have criminal records will be the first ones to be deported.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data estimate that there are currently 58,000 illegal aliens in New York City who have felony convictions or pending criminal charges.
Most Democrat Mayors are ready to fight tooth and nail to keep illegal aliens from getting deported, but the grim situation in New York has forced the Mayor to wake up.
