George Soros has pumped millions of dollars into local DA races across America – buying prosecutors who don't prosecute, installing ideologues who believe criminals are the real victims.
Travis County District Attorney José Garza is one of Soros's most prized investments – and a 25-year-old father of five just paid the price.
Here's what Garza's office did with the man now charged with that murder before he ever pulled the trigger.
Austin DA Jose Garza Dismissed Three Gun Charges Against This Career Criminal Before the Murder
Caleb Anthony Jenkins had a problem with guns long before he allegedly shot a father of five dead outside an Austin 7-Eleven.
Austin police describe Jenkins as a career criminal, and the record backs that up – he racked up three separate gun charges between 2022 and 2023.
Garza's office dismissed or declined to prosecute every single one.
In 2023, Jenkins was also arrested on a domestic violence charge and simply didn't show up to court.
He was re-arrested and released again after a bond increase.
Shortly after, a 25-year-old man stopped at a 7-Eleven and never came home to his five children.
Jenkins allegedly shot him and drove away.
Dennis Farris, president of the Austin Police Retired Officers' Association, has watched this pattern play out for years.
"It appears that Garza has now become more of an advocate for the criminal than he has for the victim," Farris told Fox News Digital.
"The prosecution is acting more like defense attorneys than they are prosecutors."

Garza didn't stumble into this job – he was purchased.
George Soros funneled $652,000 into the Texas Justice & Public Safety PAC before the 2020 Travis County DA election, and that same PAC spent almost $1 million in total on ads and mailers to put Garza over the top.
He ran his campaign explicitly promising to end prosecution of low-level drug offenses on "day one."
He won without a single day of experience as a prosecutor.
He's a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America – not a moderate, not a reformer, a socialist – and his record since taking office reads exactly like you'd expect.
His office slow-walked the prosecution of the gunman who killed 25-year-old Doug Kantor in the 2021 Sixth Street mass shooting in downtown Austin so badly that Kantor's family accused Garza of putting the case on the "back burner."
"It's very clear that his focus and attention is not on this case," Nick Kantor told Fox News Digital on the two-year anniversary of his brother's death.
Travis County residents tried to remove Garza through the courts in April 2024 under a Texas law designed to hold rogue DAs accountable for official misconduct – that petition is still moving through the system.
This Is How Soros Buys Safety Away From American Cities
The Jenkins case isn't an accident – it's the model.
Soros has installed this same playbook in cities from St. Louis to Philadelphia to Fairfax County, Virginia, and the results are identical every time: gun charges dismissed, repeat criminals released, families destroyed.
In December 2025, Fairfax County's Soros-backed DA Steve Descano dismissed charges against Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez – a record that included a prior first-degree murder charge – and released him back onto the street, where he killed someone the next day.
Soros doesn't fund these DAs because he wants safer cities – he funds them because he believes the criminal justice system itself is the enemy and that keeping dangerous men out of prison is a form of justice.
Somewhere in Austin tonight, five children don't have a father because José Garza agreed with him.
