Chuck Schumer was groaning after CNN exposed one awful confession about a pay raise

Congress thought they could pull a fast one in the last spending bill.

A Swamp creature revealed the ugly truth about what was in it.

And Chuck Schumer was groaning after CNN exposed one awful confession about a pay raise.

Democrat Senators spar with CNN reporter over Congressional pay raise

RINOs and Democrats in Congress came together to try and ram through a 1,547-page omnibus spending bill that would have kept the government funded until March.

Disaster relief for the hurricanes that devastated the southeast was rolled into the bill to help secure voters for it.

The omnibus bill was jam-packed with wasteful spending and giveaways that the country couldn’t afford.

Congress tried to sneak themselves an early Christmas present in it.

The first pay increase for Congress was included in the more than 1,500-page monstrosity.

Some Members of Congress tried to distance themselves from it after it was exposed.

RINO Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) was reportedly behind the push for a pay increase according to journalist Nick Sortor.

Crenshaw went on a profanity-laced tirade on social media when he was called out about it.

One of the highest-ranking members of the Senate tried to play dumb about the pay increase.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) was confronted by CNN reporter Manu Raju about the pay raise.

Raju asked Durbin if Congress deserved a pay raise.

“Well, that’s news to me. It’s good news!” Durbin said while chuckling. You know, what is it been ten years or 14 years and no COLA? No change at all. I think it’s about time something’s done.”

Raju asked him if he would support it.

The 80-year-old Senator claimed he had no idea what was in the bill.

“Well, I don’t know what it is. How would I not know about a pay raise?” Durbin wondered.

Raju tried to challenge Durbin on the pay raise and he jabbed back.

“I mean, people look at the performance of Congress, say, why should we give them more money?” Raju asked.

“What about the media? Think about that for a second,” Durbin fired back.

Raju pointed out that the media wasn’t paid with taxpayer money.

“I know you’re not. But I mean, half of your listeners are not there anymore,” Durbin said. “You’re still getting the same paycheck? What’s going on?”

The more than 1,500-page bill dropped at the last minute, which didn’t give Congress time to read it before they were supposed to vote on it.

Raju pointed out that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) right-hand man had no idea what was in it during a segment with CNN’s Jim Acosta.

“Durbin essentially said that, yes, they should give themselves a raise. And it also was notable, Jim. He wasn’t aware that this was in the provision and he’s the number two Senate Democrat,” Raju said. “Just shows you how this was negotiated among a handful of members.”

The bill was ultimately killed after backlash built when what was in it was exposed.

Swamp creatures tried to ram through a secretive bill before anyone could find out what was in it and gift themselves a hefty raise for Christmas.
