The media runs the Democrat Party.
Conventional wisdom in the press soon becomes official party positions.
And now Whoopi Goldberg issued one ultimatum that is a bad problem for Democrats.
Whoopi Goldberg defends Hunter Biden’s pardon
Democrats eyeing a political future – such as Michigan Senator Gary Peters, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis – wasted no time in condemning Joe Biden’s decision to issue a blanket pardon to Hunter Biden for any crime he may have committed going back to January 2014.
But Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t among those Democrats.
Goldberg even defended Biden for lying to the American people about how he wasn’t going to pardon Hunter Biden.
“You know what I think is hurtful for the American people? I think what is hurtful is denying that if it’s good for the goose, it’s good for the gander. He is the president of the United States. And it is his right, and he doesn’t have to explain to anybody, this is his right as president,” Goldberg began.
Goldberg argued that the President’s pardon power was absolute and that Biden could pardon “Bozo the Clown” if he wanted, so she didn’t understand why Americans were up in arms over Biden pardoning his son.
“He can pardon — if he wants to pardon Bozo the Clown, he can pardon Bozo the Clown so I’m not sure why, again, why people are clutching their pearls why the left is clutching their pearls because did y’all forget all the stuff that we said was going on or that doesn’t matter because it seems to me — and I have to write it down because I didn’t think I would remember it — I just want to say, Democrats, you can’t have it both ways,” Goldberg added.
Goldberg then segued into a bizarre tirade about how Democrats fighting for the transgender agenda meant they needed to back Biden on pardoning his son.
“You can’t have it both ways. You can’t let people tell you’re not taking the moral ground when we take the moral ground all the time. We fight for migrant rights, women’s rights, gay folks’ rights, trans rights and every time we do suddenly we’re being told, oh, you’re on the woke agenda,” Goldberg continued.
Goldberg said she was tired of the circular firing squad in the Democrat Party.
“Either we are this party and we fight for these things and you see what’s going on, and you get why he’s decided to do this, or you don’t,” Goldberg concluded. “But you don’t go out and chew up other Democrats. This is a big problem, I feel as a Democrat.”
As long as members of the press defend Biden, then the Democrat Party can’t fully break with Biden.
That means Democrats will be stuck defending a toxic lame duck President who issued an even more politically toxic pardon to protect his son.
