Democrats lived in a bubble about Donald Trump
Veteran political journalist Mark Halperin emerged as one of the breakout stars of the 2024 Election.
His sources told him three days before it happened that President Joe Biden was about to drop out in July.
The former ABC News political director warned that sources inside the Democrat and Republican Party had Vice President Kamala Harris losing in internal polling when Kamala-mania was at its peak in the media.
Halperin had the correct read on the election from the entrance of Kamala that President-elect Donald Trump had a narrow edge going into Election Day and that reach states like New Hampshire and Virginia could be in play for Republicans.
He appeared on The Brian Kilmeade Show where he pointed out that the Left and Never-Trumpers lived in a bubble that shielded them from reality about the President-elect.
“I really pleaded with everyone I knew who was a Never Trumper, someone with Trump Derangement Syndrome or super opposed to Donald Trump,” Halperin said. “I said he’s going to get 47% of the vote and he might get 50. But the difference between 47 and 50 is, you know, several million Americans. You have to respect the fact that tens of millions of people are going to vote for him. And you have to be prepared for that.”
Halperin said that some of these people listened to him while others didn’t.
The media created a fantasy world about the election
The mainstream media lived in a fantasy world about the state of the race throughout the entire election.
Journalists claimed that Trump’s campaign was doomed after the September debate; a comedian telling an off-color joke about Puerto Rico at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally would cause Hispanic voters to abandon him, and that Kamala campaigning with RINO Liz Cheney would cause Republicans to vote for her.
The media ignored or missed what really mattered in the election while hyping nonstories.
Halperin said that the media left Democrats in a bubble about what was really going on.
“The dominant media, which creates this fantasy world of Joe Biden doesn’t have an acuity problem. Kamala Harris should be given the nomination without any question,” Halperin explained.
“The open border is not an issue that people really care about,” Halperin continued. “All these things, the prosecutions of Donald Trump, the attempts to keep him off the ballot. The attempts to keep Bobby Kennedy off the ballot. All of these things, the failure of the President and the Vice President to express outrage at the murder of American citizens by people in the country illegally. All these things add up to a blue bubble that they just can’t see.”
This lack of perspective left Democrats in a state of shock on election night that Trump was going to sweep the swing states and win the popular vote.
The media openly worked to get Kamala elected and lost touch with reality about what was happening in the country during this election.
