Karine Jean-Pierre is counting down the days until she leaves the White House.
She can’t take getting grilled in press briefings anymore.
And Karine Jean-Pierre threw a hissy fit after Peter Doocy asked about this awkward situation.
Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have an awkward lunch after her defeat
Vice President Kamala Harris kept President Joe Biden on the sidelines during the final weeks of the election, much to his chagrin.
Now the blame game is underway after her defeat to President-elect Donald Trump.
Some of Kamala’s camp pointed the finger at Biden for not dropping out of the race sooner.
Biden’s allies criticized her for not having the President campaign for her in areas with working-class voters that she struggled with.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy put White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the spot about the growing tensions between Biden and Kamala during a press briefing.
“We know that today, a week after the election, President Biden and Vice President Harris had a private lunch. How awkward was that?” Doocy asked.
Jean-Pierre became very defensive and tried to play dumb about the situation.
“I don’t even understand. Why would it be awkward?” Jean-Pierre whined. “Why would you characterize it as awkward? They have regular lunches, they meet and talk regularly. Why would you call it awkward?”
“Because the President got squeezed out for her and then she kept him at arm’s length and then she lost and now she’s back,” Doocy said.
Jean-Pierre continued to act shocked that he would call the lunch awkward.
“So, there’s no weirdness about the way things have unfolded?” Doocy asked.
“Did you see them together yesterday, as well, when they honored our veterans and were together during the day making sure that we didn’t forget about the brave men and women that fought for this country?” Jean-Pierre fumed. “Did you see them together yesterday? Did you see the show of force together? This is, look, I’m not even gonna take the premise of this question.”
Jean-Pierre didn’t want to talk about the elephant in the room after Kamala’s lopsided defeat.
Blame game got nasty after the election between Kamala and Biden
Kamala’s campaign team was quick to point fingers at Biden as the cause of her defeat.
“We ran the best campaign we could, considering Joe Biden was President,” an anonymous Kamala aide told Politico. “Joe Biden is the singular reason Kamala Harris and Democrats lost tonight.”
Another Kamala aide blamed Biden for not stepping aside sooner and forcing her to enter the race at the last minute.
Others saw blaming Biden as a way to pass the buck for her failure.
“Blaming Biden would be a convenient explanation,” a source said. “But it doesn’t account for the full picture. Harris had the opportunity to present herself differently and draw clearer contrasts, yet some feel she missed those chances.”
Now, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have to ride out the final days of their administration with tensions growing between the pair after her humiliating defeat.
