Jack Smith’s lawfare against Donald Trump is over.
Even a fanatic like Smith could read the writing on the wall.
And now Jack Smith raised the white flag of surrender with this letter to a judge.
Jack Smith moves to formally end his witch hunts against Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s victory on November 5 means the Democrat Party’s lawfare against him is over.
Biden-Harris administration prosecutor Jack Smith officially surrendered in a brief filing to Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan, asking her to postpone all deadlines in the January 6 witch hunt case due to the fact that Donald Trump won the election and Congress will certify his victory on January 6, 2025.
“As a result of the election held on November 5, 2024, the defendant is expected to be certified as President-elect on January 6, 2025, and inaugurated on January 20, 2025. The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy,” Smith’s filing read.
Judge Chutkan swiftly granted the order.
Smith’s motion was an admission by his office that his persecution of Trump was political in nature and the only purpose was to interfere in the 2024 election.
Having failed in that effort, Smith ended his case against Trump.
Smith telegraphed this was coming.
Not even 24 hours after the press declared Trump the victor, Smith met with his bosses at the Biden-Harris Department of Justice to discuss how to end this case as well as the Mar-a-Lago document hoax.
“Special counsel Jack Smith is evaluating how to wind down the two federal cases launched against President-elect Trump following his Election Day victory, a move that would align with Justice Department policy barring the prosecution of sitting presidents,” The Hill exclusively reported.
“A Trump-led Justice Department was widely expected to move to withdraw the charges against Trump, but Smith’s team is discussing pulling back in the cases ahead of the Inauguration,” The Hill report continued.
Judge Aileen Cannon threw out the Mar-a-Lago document hoax on the basis that Attorney General Merrick Garland violated the Constitution’s appointments clause in naming a private citizen like Jack Smith as special counsel.
The Biden-Harris administration would like to see that appeal play out in the hopes it will preserve the right of a future Democrat administration to name partisan thugs like Jack Smith special counsels to terrorize their political opponents.
But the American people were able to render the largest jury verdict in history on the cases Democrats brought against Donald Trump.
And the resounding verdict was not guilty.
