Garth Brooks is one of the most popular artists in country music history.
His life could be about to undergo a dramatic change.
And Garth Brooks has one scary decision to make about his future that shocked his fans.
Garth Brooks accused of sexual assault by a former employee
Country music legend Garth Brooks is dealing with the biggest scandal of his career.
A former makeup artist and hairstylist for him and his wife, country music star Trisha Yearwood, accused him of sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery.
The woman filed a civil lawsuit in California against Brooks.
She claimed to have stopped working for the “Friends in Low Places” singer and Yearwood in 2021.
The woman alleged that Brooks assaulted her in 2019 during a trip the pair took to Los Angeles where he was going to perform at the Grammys.
Brooks denied the allegations against him and accused her of trying to shake him down for money.
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” Brooks said in a statement.
“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” Brooks added. “We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood consider buying a home abroad
Brooks said during his Inside Studio G Facebook Live show that he and his wife were considering buying a home in Ireland.
“Actually, the queen is pushing hard for the house in Ireland,” Brooks said. “I think this last time over there, she just fell head over heels in love with the country.”
He played a series of concerts in Ireland and brought Yearwood with him.
“We played two weekends, so we went on that stint across the country, and everyone was so sweet to her,” Brooks recalled.
Brooks said that Yearwood “fell head over heels in love” with Ireland while the couple was there.
His concerts sold out stadiums in Ireland and he’s had a big following in the country dating back to the 1990s.
What started as two shows in Ireland in 2022 expanded to five because of overwhelming demand.
The “Thunder Rolls” singer’s appeal is truly international.
Before Brooks considers a move abroad, he has another release in his series, The Anthology, in December.
The Anthology Part IV: Going Home will highlight the 14 years since he stepped away from the music industry to spend time with his kids in Oklahoma.
“Those fourteen years of my life are the ones I’ll always remember. It was life at its best. I learned to be a dad, my girls got to know me, and I’d never for one second regret walking away from a career in order to find all of that,” Brooks said.
Garth Brooks has his family beside him as he faces an ugly legal battle.
